Dell Community Ideas
Big companies hearing what customers have to say Dell Community submitted by gamer128 Yesterday I think that the big companies should actually listen to what customers want, because, how else do they know how to create a good product, if they don't listen? 2 Comments » When you ask for suggestions try responding to them Dell Community, Dell Web Site, IdeaStorm submitted by jervis961 Jul 3
This Idea is 2 fold. Dell Community submitted by newbs Jul 1
I loved that video! Dell Community submitted by charisse212 Jul 1 THE LOUNGE WOULD BE THE NEXT MYSPACE. IT WOULD BE A PLACE PEOPLE CAN COME AND TALK TO ALL OF THEIR FRIENDS AT THE SAME TIME. INSTEAD OF JUST BEING ABLE TO INSTANT MESSAGE EACH OTHER ONE AT A TIME, ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS WOULD BE ABLE TO VIEW AND PARTICIPATE IN THE CONVERSATION. YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO CUSTOM DESIGN YOUR OWN ICON WHICH BE A CHOICE OF SEATING ITEM. FOR EXAMPLE YOU CAN CHOOSE A STOOL, CHAIR, COUCH, LOVESEAT, ANYTHING YOU CAN LOUNGE IN AND RELAX. 10 Comments » Dell Community submitted by gcetheredge Jun 30
It’s very refreshing to see an organization as Dell to set the standards in the word today. To be able to have the vision to see that the future is revolved around the minds and energies of the young and innovative. I applauded you in this effort but, until all the Einstein’s of tomorrow are given or provided the right tools, this effort will not bear full fruit. Let me explain. Young International Proud Parents Dell Community, Software submitted by candacemichelle_1 Jun 30
I heard on the Steve Harvey Morning Show that Dell is looking for new innovative ideas much like the logic behind such successes as Myspace and Facebook. I believe there needs to be a website specifically catered to a network of international young parents. Some of these young people need guidance in parenting. The ages of this free membership would range from 13 years old to 25 years old. Expand Dell TechKnow 2.0 to Other Countries Dell Community, Service and Support, Simplify IT submitted by aikiwolfie Jun 28
While browsing around Dell.com I found a video on Dell TechKnow 2.0. I think this is an excellent idea that should be expanded around the globe. Here in the UK there has been a lot of debate about the dumbing down of IT skills. Dell Community submitted by jervis961 May 30 The current Dell Myway home page is a good starting point but needs to improve. The site is very basic in what it supplies and can in no way compete with the likes of Google, Yahoo or even MSN. I cannot think of anyone I know that actually uses the site. The games section is a feature that keeps people returning to sites but Dell's games section is all trial downloads where other sites allow you to play free online. Dell needs to freshen the look and add more community features to keep people using the site. Comment » Dell Community Forum Support - Community Moderators!! Dell Community, Service and Support submitted by phillyfloyd May 27
Fully support and understand Dell's position on their n-series laptops, that said, why not migrate a lot of the Dell Community Software Forum (for Linux) to community members. Sure, the forums are suppose to be an open-source place to exchange ideas and get useful information from other end-users. However, there sould always be some sort of moderator that can qualify the responses and provide QC. Add social more networking features to the Dell community with Google Friend Connect Dell Community submitted by jervis961 May 13
Here is an article about the program which is currently in Beta . http://tinyurl.com/6zmwfb User customized banner colors on all the Dell community sites. Dell Community submitted by jervis961 May 3 Dell recently added a new section to Direct 2 Dell called Your Blog It’s a more open version of D2D that even allows you to submit articles or ideas for articles they should blog about. There is a great option at the top in the banner that allows the user to choose which color they want. I think all the community sites should have that option so I can finally get away from this mustard color and back to the old Dell blue. 2 Comments » Idea- Dell staff should read the various blogs that discuss Dell. Dell Community, Dell Web Site submitted by jmxz Apr 6 **ALREADY OFFERED**
The blogs across the internet are full of interesting articles on Dell. Here are a couple examples that made the home pages of Digg and SlashDot this month (both rather popular community news sites).
The great Dell Linux scam
Idea: While IdeaStorm and the Dell forums are decent tools for learning what Dell fans and Dell loyalists think of Dell - the blogs outside of IdeaStorm are better for understanding the x-dell-customers and former-dell-fans that you already lost. Read (and listen to) IdeaStorm to learn how to keep your existing customers. Read (and listen to and understand) what these blogs say to learn how to get former-customers back. Please see richard_b's comment about Dell reading blogs 3 Comments » Provide Feedback For Rejected Ideas Dell, Dell Community, IdeaStorm submitted by aikiwolfie Apr 5
It would be nice if Dell could tell us why ideas that have been rejected by Dell were rejected. If IdeaStorm members understood the reasons why certain ideas were not being implemented then they may not get so annoyed. Dell: don't restrict teenagers from site participation! Apparently a participant in the StormRoom is having access removed because of Dell's "Terms and Conditions" specifying an AGE LIMIT. Allow Under 18s To Post On IdeaStorm Dell Community, IdeaStorm, Simplify IT submitted by aikiwolfie Mar 30
Recently there has been some discussion over on Dell Forums about under 18s not being allowed to post on IdeaStorm. While I am aware there are legal obligations Dell must meet to accommodate children of certain age groups. I think Dell are being overly paranoid in this matter. Simplify ITRecently Dell has also made a big deal about simplifying IT. Well where XPS gaming rigs are concerned, wouldn't it be simpler to talk to "kids" directly rather than having to go through their parents? From what I've read on IdeaStorm with examples like "Joe Sixpack" and "Mon & Pop", the general American adult population seem to be a bit thick when it comes to using and understanding PCs. That's not meant to be an insult. It's just how it looks from the outside looking in. I think you might need the "kids" input after all. Drop the age limit to 13. 12 Comments » Link Friends on Dell to Share Activity Advertising and Marketing, Dell Community, IdeaStorm submitted by integral Mar 26 Just like on Facebook where you can share your activities with friends, there should be a service from Dell where people can link up with their friends and follow what they are doing. Dell could even have special discounts or promotions if groups of friends decide to buy the same thing. There could be a wish list section so friends could buy things for each other. Since a lot of people don't spend a lot of time on the Dell site, the communications could come from emails and texts so everyone could see what was happening. I get a lot of emails from Dell but I think I would read them more if they were also mentioning what my friends were buying. Instead of making people try to think of all their friends that are Dell registered buyers, if you could import your friend lists from your social sites that would be cool. Comment » Add Number of posts you solved to Dashboard and member profile at Dell Community Forum Dell Community submitted by pudgyone Mar 26
Add the number to Dashboard the number of posts you solved. There has been a number of posts that members have solved and it would be nice to see that added to Dashboard and member profile. This way the person knows how many posts they solved and also other members can also see how many posts the person has solved. Highlight Words Dell Doesn't Like! Dell Community, IdeaStorm submitted by aikiwolfie Mar 17
For whatever reason Dell has taken it upon it's self to include unoffensive every day words in it's naughty words list. As I don't find these words offensive I'm often left bewildered and bemused as to which word it is that Dell are taking offense to. Dell Community submitted by jdelidc Mar 8 so i've been in stormroom/forum looking at the problems people are having with their machines and i've been asked 2x so far just tonight (it's 1137pm here) to do a customer satisfaction survey. not to mention almost every time i'm over there it asks me to do one. could we get a little note on the servers somewhere that says "this screen name has already been asked this week so hold off on asking again"?gets annoying after a while 6 Comments » Save money and utilize the Dell community Dell Community, Service and Support submitted by jervis961 Mar 8
