Desktops, Gaming, Inspiron products submitted by fahdriyami Feb 3 Sometimes when looking for a reasonablly priced notebook or desktop i would go for the Inspiron range, and im a gamer, when customizing my pc i just wonder why is there only one or two choices of graphic cards?!, most of them support the same bus type, so why not offer them?! eg, the best Inspiron notebook you offer only comes with a GeForce 8600M GT, can you just offer an 8700M with it at least? i know you did it for a reason and its probably a good one but im just curious...thinking of it, an Inspiron with an 8800M sounds ok :D 3 Comments » Desktops and Laptops submitted by stanislawski1 Feb 10 I work for a billion dollor compeny that buys nothing but Dell Im up the corp later If you do not put back the 64bit drivers I'm going to the top so we no longer buy dell pc's 6 Comments » Price To High When Adding Components Configuring New XPS Systems XPS products submitted by syrics06 Feb 4
When configuring an XPS system on the dell website I noticed the prices were very high when adding or upgrading parts. Post Laptop Display Specs for Brightness and Contrast Monitors and Displays submitted by canuck58 Feb 11 It would be most fair and honest to list the Laptop display specs of brightness and contrast so we know what we are buying; many other competitors do. Last Inspiron 9300 I purchased has a dismal dark 1920x1200 screen making it very difficult to use anywhere near bright light sources or backlit sources. 1 Comment » Sales Strategies, XPS products, Laptops submitted by bryan14c Jan 9
dell should implement a Core 2 extreme processor as an option for the XPS 1330 and 1530 and a first quad core notebook , because the high end models have this , why not on the 1330 and 1530 XPS is high end right? and also why stick to 8600gt that there is a 8700gt or above graphics card , well the XPS 1530 and 1330 overall design is great slim light, well as an addition dell should also implement a PENRYN processor Dell must cut ties to Scientology Advertising and Marketing, Dell submitted by dakkona Feb 7
A video has recently been leaked from the 2006-2007 Church of Scientology New Year's gathering, where their leader, David Miscavige, lauds a campaign to spread Scientology and lead an operation to "OBLITERATE" psychiatry. And he PRAISES DELL for AIDING them in distributing a booklet of theirs called "The Way to Happiness" all over Africa! Make a calendar with all COMING SOON and IN PROGRESS ideas Advertising and Marketing, IdeaStorm submitted by krasmussen 09/22/07 **REVIEWED**
One of the biggest annoyances with IdeaStorm is that the horizon for an idea being implemented is very blurry, if at all existing. If you're lucky, you get "third quarter 2009", but mostly, there is no timeframe at all. This leads to the feeling that not much is being done, and exactly that feeling is what IdeaStorm should be eliminating. Tell us what WiFi chipset a laptop has. Tell us the WiFi chipset used in a laptop before we buy it so we know if the WiFi chipset supports a feature we want, or if it supports Linux or another operating system that we intend to use. The WiFi chipset being like "Intel ipw2200" or "Broadcom BCM4306", or "Ralink rt2500". Linux Hardware Compatibility List Dell Web Site, Linux submitted by s3indiana 02/20/07 **IN PROGRESS**
Create a listing of Dell hardware that's compatible with the major Linux distributions (Fedora, OpenSuse, ubuntu, Freespire) providing compatibility with not just systems (desktops and laptops) but include peripherals (printers, camera's, flash drives, compatible routers, etc.). Include levels of compatibility so the reviewer can make an educated choice. This would provide the greatest assistance for those looking at alternatives... Make XP/Linux drivers available for all model even if only Vista is pre-installed Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Linux, Operating Systems submitted by vineets001 09/24/07 **REVIEWED**
There are good hardware models coming out. And only Vista is pre-install option. If people want to wipe off Vista and install XP or Linux, let them do that. Make a commitment to have the drivers available. Linux, Service and Support submitted by tekhawk 07/20/07 **PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED**
basicly a simple idea dell to support the ubuntu community a little bit by running a repo for its laptops and desktop if nothing more to support the software that they install on the system and to provide driver updates theses repos should be setup on the machines before shipping so that the users can get the driver updates quick and easy and offer driver on there for all the drivers that there are for dell machines that are support on linux not just the shipping lines Make Linux and no Operating system standard options on all future products Operating Systems submitted by jervis961 08/17/07 **REVIEWED**
OK Dell you have committed to supplying Linux options in limited form. Since you have laid the groundwork already here is the next step. Every new product you release that needs an Operating system should have Linux and also no Operating System as an option in the configuration along side Windows. Since you have to write drivers and test compatability for Vista when making a new product just make it compatable with Linux at the same time. There will no longer be a need for a seperate sections for Linux or no Operating system since all of the products will have the option. this will help make your site easier to navigate for you customers. You can also create an ACCURATE help me choose section for the OS choices. track my votes
