Use magsafe power connectors

Laptops, Laptop Power submitted by badblood 05/20/07 **UNDER REVIEW**

MagSafe power connectors, by Apple, are magnetic power connectors that pull out harmlessly when the cord is tripped upon.

They are very cool and quite sensible.

ZERO Noise Water Cooling Laptops

Environment, New Product Ideas submitted by ruvenss 05/28/07

Make a cooling system with less decibels than any other Laptop on the market. Use cooling materials, as an option, so customers can choose to pay more for a non noisy laptop.

A cooling system for every part of the laptop, even sharing the weight of the components on the screen side,. imagine a flat battery on the whole LCD screen back, now with that free space on the chassis you can split the harware components so they can breath better, also include a flat gel cooling system, to improve performance, battery life, and reduce the noise as much as possible. 20 Comments »

Make longer lasting batteries for better portability

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptop Power submitted by winoffice 05/05/07 **IN PROGRESS**

Don't make us recharge our laptops' batteries so often! A recent Cnet article (posted at Cnet's news site at about May 5, 2007) explains that Windows Vista's Aero Glass feature gives you less battery life. So, if we want Windows Vista, then we either have to recharge more often, or pay extra for more and better batteries! Instead, make Dell get rid of the batteries which quickly lose their charge...and come up with something that would give us longer battery life as follows (under Windows Vista), without making us stay away from Windows Vista or pay an extra $99 for another and better battery.

Basic laptops: at least 2 1/2 hours battery life
Entertainment laptops: at least 3 1/2 hours battery life
XPS laptops: at least 4 1/2 hours battery life 31 Comments »

Battery life calculator when configuring notebooks

Laptops, Laptop Power submitted by arrgh406 06/27/07

i always wonder what the battery life of a notebook is, but i can never figure it out,
so i think it would be helpful to give an estimate of the expected battery life when configuring based on graphic card, processor and battery size. 10 Comments »

Docking station with 2 DVI outs

Monitors and Displays, Laptops submitted by sdech 07/19/07

I would like to see docking station that have 2 DVI outs instead of one DVI & one analog (VGA). I am running dual monitors on my docking station now and the crisp clean look of the digital connection is far superior to my analog connection. It sure would be nice to have the exact same look and feel on my dual monitors. 5 Comments »

Docking Stations for Inspiron and XPS notebooks

Inspiron products, XPS products submitted by jlatham 06/22/07

These days with the proliferation of laptops on college campuses the utility of mediacenter laptops, such as Dell's Inspirons, is hampered by the absence of docking stations or port replicators designed to work seamlessly with these computers. Dell's makes them for Latitudes, but seems to overlook this vital portion of the market. Anyone who has ever used a docking station at work to connect periferals yearns to have one at home...or at school. 1 Comment »

Docking Station for Vostro

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Latitude products, Vostro products submitted by coachcg 07/21/07

Vostro looks like a good system and has some strengths over Latitude like the enhanced integrated sound, longer battery life, and better screen option, but lacks docking capability. So I went with Latitude, but I could really use those features mentioned. Could Dell look into adding those options to Latitude notebooks or adding a docking option to Vostro?
