Build and Advertise Printers that don't lie, cheat, and steal. Advertising and Marketing, Environment, Printers and Ink submitted by jmxz 12/24/07
Inkjet printers have earned a well deserved horrible reputation as "filthy, lying thieves". Quoting that article "Printers routinely report that they are low on ink even when they aren't, and in some cases there are still hundreds of pages worth of ink left." I have the best printer from that study - which still wastes "only" 9 percent of ink - and has the annoyance that it'll even refuse to print "black and white only" when one of the color cartridge's is dry.
It'll build up Dell as a Brand That Can Be Trusted - something that's been sorely lacking for quite some time 2 Comments » Allow anyone to get any PC in any channel (home, business, etc.) on the Dell site. Sales Strategies, Desktops and Laptops submitted by winoffice 12/18/07

Nothing is more annoying than laptop power cables that are not interchangeable from one computer model to another or from one brand of computer to another. Power cables have been standardized on most electrical applicances, including desktop computers for decades. There should be an option of having no trialware on all computers Software submitted by jervis961 08/23/07 **REVIEWED**
Here is a news article about trialware and how Dell feels that regular customers want it but small business ones do. Do they not look at the ideas here? Make Linux and no Operating system standard options on all future products Operating Systems submitted by jervis961 08/17/07 **REVIEWED**
OK Dell you have committed to supplying Linux options in limited form. Since you have laid the groundwork already here is the next step. Every new product you release that needs an Operating system should have Linux and also no Operating System as an option in the configuration along side Windows. Since you have to write drivers and test compatability for Vista when making a new product just make it compatable with Linux at the same time. There will no longer be a need for a seperate sections for Linux or no Operating system since all of the products will have the option. this will help make your site easier to navigate for you customers. You can also create an ACCURATE help me choose section for the OS choices. Recycle & refurbish old Dell PCs back to Dell for 10% discount Environment submitted by reg 05/18/07
Recycle your old Dell back to Dell for a 10% discount on new equipment. Dell can then secure overwrite erase the hard drive, install Ubuntu + hardware drivers, then donate the hardware to unemployment, food stamp, and welfare offices Nationwide. The social services offices then can pass out the refurbished used equipment to its clients, and Dell can be given BIG tax breaks by the State and Federal Systems. Dell Web Site, Sales Strategies, Service and Support submitted by consumer 05/16/07 Recently I ordered several items from Dell.com using some reward certificate. The total of my order was $0.00 due to the value of the reward certificate. After I entered the credit card information, I received the email confirming my order with cost of the item in black font and rebate amount in red color font. But the total of the invoice did not subtract the rebate amount. When I called the customer service in Philippines. The woman understood the situation but said that I would have to talk to her manager. The manager was also a woman but could hardly speak and understand English. She started reading some legal documents. I asked her if I could talk to someone who spoke English and could understand the problem she said that she could not. After that I have called several times without any relief. Finally, I have called the credit card company and hoping that they would do something about it. I am afraid I may have to deal with call centers overses with the credit card company. It is becoming hopeless. Comment » Sales Strategies, Servers and Storage submitted by dwaynemowers 05/17/07
There are many clients that call into the TBU Storage queue in OKC and state that their Sales person is ineffective or non-responsive to their requests. In this vein I believe there maybe sales opportunities that are bing missed or lost due to poor folow up or communication. My IDEA is that the TBU Storage group (and other groups) have a specific queue or individual we can call that can handle these requests and questions, not to get the information and forward it along but to actually take the order, provide quotes and follow up on current quotes/sales. I think this would be an excellent opportunity to provide enterprise class customer service and well as an increase to sales in Enterprise Storage. Think there is a real market for this feature on Dell's Latitude line of notebooks. Focus would be on the Latitude line to target people who work for companies. Would make hunting for projectors a thing of the past. Envisioning a projector built into the chassis. Thoughts? 14 Comments » TV Commercial for New Ubuntu PCs Advertising and Marketing, Linux submitted by josmar52789 05/03/07 Dell should produce a new commercial for the Ubuntu PCs. It could tell the consumers of America why Dell has chosen to pre-install Linux on mainstream computers and hopefully promote the advantages of this new endeavor. Plus, it's likely that Dell's Linux initiative would be much more successful. 117 Comments » Software submitted by fgarpe 02/26/07
Don't put DRM hardware or software in any Operating Systems submitted by icantseeyou 02/21/07 **IMPLEMENTED**
From all of the press I have read it is plain that Vista is a big bomb. To buy the cheapest version I hear it isn't even as good as XP SP2. At the same time you need at least 4 Gig to run it. Offer other options... I don't care if it's Linux, XP, or a rat running on a wheel. Don't make us buy Vista. Remove metallic Windows sticker Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by bastos 02/21/07
The unremovable metallic "Vista capable" or "Designed for XP" sticker serves no purpose as soon as the laptop is in use by the end-user. Dell should design its notebooks to be sleek, stylish and simple -- and a permanent stickers is the exact opposite. This is (in part) why Apple sells the most stylish laptops, and why the one you buy is never as nice as the one you see in the promotional-pictures (no stickers!) track my votes
