High-end keyboard option

I spend a fortune on the latest hardware, but the only keyboards I can find are all cheap pieces of junk. I would like a keyboard that matches the rest of my system, and is comfortable. Since I spend 8+ hours a day typing, I will pay for extra comfort.
How about an ergonomic layout keyboard with the following features:
Soft top buttons (I have repetitive stress issues with the tips of my fingers, and soft keys would be so nice! - right now I solve the problem by coating the tops of the keys with velcro fuzz)
Braile on top of keys (Not just for blind people - I put braile tops on a keyboard once just for fun and found that it really added to the comfort of the keys by providing some texture, and also it makes it easier to find the keys without having to look at the keyboard)
Split-style ergonomic layout, but with two "B" keys, one to hit with left hand, and one to hit with right hand.
Black in color (so it does not reflect), but with adjustable backlighting on keys or maybe just glow in the dark letters, so that it can be seen in dim lighting conditions.
Full size layout with full size numeric keypad, and arrow key layouts.
Physical switches to disable the "Windows" key, and any other similar keys that can be dangerous when pressed at the wrong time, such as "Sleep" or Power" keys.

Wish list for next gen XPS Gaming Portable
Gaming, XPS products submitted by guardianxps

ok so I have an XPS M1710 and love it.
However I noticed other manufacturers have been getting creative with their high end portables.
So here is my wish for whatever will be the next version of the 1710 XPS
1. Add a number pad PLEASE!!!! 2. Allow the customer to choose the type of keyboards on the system: Black, Silver, or Clear. 3. Backlight the keyboard and touchpad. 4. Allow us to choose a skin of a popular game on the system, preferably on the top and around the keyboard. (the WOW M1710 was cool but didnt cover enough of the system) 5. Add a mic to the portable 6. There are plenty of high end AMD processors, I would ask for a really good one that supports X64. 7. Add thumb print technology to the system somewhere like the Lenovo systems. This is great security technology. 8. Change the chassis to the new system, maybe something really cool instead of what you have now. 9. Hopefully there will be DX10 video cards available for the portables? 10. Move away from Silver chassis systems, its very bland. Maybe all black, or midnight blue, or maybe red? 11. Allow surround sound to be used on the portable. I have a Turtle Beach headset with surround sound. I need another device to make it work, how about add the ports which allow connecting to 5.1 speakers or headset.
Well thats all I can think of right now.
Feel free to add anything else which comes to mind. Hopefully this gets a lot of votes. :)

Add Alienware Products to EPP Site

Please consider making Alienware notebooks and desktops available to EPP clients. I am looking for a new notebook, 17" with full numeric keypad. You don't have one on the DELL site (please add numeric keypads to your 17" notebooks, you have the space) but you do have one through Alienware. If I could order it through the EPP program, I already would have. I like the Alienware products because I can get more powerful hardware and skip paying for unneeded software like MS Works. I can purchase full versions of MS Office via the MS HUP program so I don't need to be paying Dell for any software like it.

Latitude with 17" widescreen and 10 Key

This year we purchased the D820. We almost purchased an HP or Gateway because of the following features missing from the D820:
15" widescreen - with the widescreen format you can see more columns on a spreadsheet, but at 15" the text is to small and some users complain about eye strain when using the laptop in the field.
The HP and Gateway 17" widescreen models use the extra space to add a full 10 key to the keyboard - This is essential for people working in the financial industry.
The next round of purchases will likely be from a different vendor if these features are still missing.

I'd like to see an expanded notebook with a number keypad on the right side. I think there are a lot of financial prefessionals that would appreciate this.

Notebooks with full 88 key keyboards

Unfortunately, other notebook manufacturers have discovered that a full keyboard and number pad can be used with a notebook. For someone who uses numbers regularly at work and is frequently on the road, having this option is highly desireable! Now I know that the XPS 2010 has a full keyboard, but what about a 17" or a 15" with a full keyboard. Others have it and I am wondering when Dell will offer this option.

Numeric Keypad on 17" Laptops

HP, Acer, Toshiba and a bunch of others offer it. HP has even an option of dual HDD. 17" laptops have quite a bit of space inside to pack a lot of goodies.
Most people looking for desktop replacement with the mobility option need the full keyboard. What's the holdup at Dell?

Numeric Keypad on Notebooks

Since notebooks are larger and have plenty of unused space below the keyboard and to the right of the touchpad, can we make a few models with a numeric keypad?
There are probably a HUGE number of engineers, accountants, analysts that would be FAR better served by this addition. The top row of number is nowhere near as efficient as a numeric keypad.
As soon as this feature becomes available, send me an email and I will buy my next Dell notebook.
Thanks.

I’ll Pay for It - Price Packages by Service Level

Dell wants your feedback on the following idea intended to improve customer service and support:
We're considering an option that would allow customers to "buy in” to differentiated packages of service, including where they choose to have the service delivered from.
UPDATE (May 18 at 8pm Central): A number of people are asking for more information about this idea so they can comment. However, this idea is not a defined “offer” at this point, so many details have not yet been determined. That’s why we want your feedback!
Others have asked if this idea would cost extra or not… in this case, yes, the intent is to explore a “for fee” buy-up option from the standard warranty.
In this option we are considering, the standard warranty service would not go away, it would remain free with system purchase. And the buy-up option would be for incremental offerings, which might range from selecting to be served by local customer service agents in your country to other services such as system tune-ups, virus and spyware removal, etc.
Some of these incremental offerings might be included as the standard offering for premium products, but they might also be offered as an option for any customer to buy into – independent of the model of system purchased. For example, airlines have frequent flyer programs and Club Lounges. If you are a premium customer and fly first-class, you automatically get access to the Club Lounge. If you fly economy-class, you don’t, but you can still buy your way into the Club Lounge.
Again, none of the details for this idea are defined yet, this is just what we are thinking so far (based on your feedback), so you tell us what you think it should look like!

We're considering providing customers the ability to self-select their service queue based on their own technical capability, such as "Advanced Computer Knowledge," "Intermediate," or "Beginner," further customizing the support experience.
