Dell List Computer Configuration Options in order not random. Dell Community, Dell Web Site submitted by jorge 06/25/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Dell list computer configuration options in an ordered list not random! Matte (NOT TrueLife) Display on XPS m1330 Monitors and Displays, XPS products submitted by mw 06/27/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
The XPS m1330 seems to be the perfect machine, aside from a few imperfections (no Gigabit Ethernet, for example). However, there is one feature that is an absolute dealbreaker for me--the glossy TrueLife screen. I remember the day before the shiny screens, and what a beautiful day that was. English Speaking Support in the Caribbean Service and Support submitted by creativepragmatic 06/28/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
I am based on an island in the English speaking Caribbean. Every time I order from Dell, I use the website because I fear not understanding or being misunderstood by the Spanish speaking reps assigned to my country. While I appreciate the Spanish speaking reps' efforts, communicating with them is frustrating for me and when I make a large order on behalf of a client, it is important that each order be 100% correct. Mistakes are costly for me, my clients and Dell. Dell should either set up a small sale/service center staffed by native English speakers to service customers in the English speaking Caribbean or route our calls to a North American center staffed by native English speakers. I live in a country where I know Dell sells a lot of computers, will likely sell more in the future as the country develops, and where people love famous brands. Providing native English support to native English customers should not be that difficult. Linux, Desktops and Laptops submitted by daniel117 06/29/07 **REVIEWED**
Since Dell is putting Ubuntu on their notebooks and a desktop computer, I figured out that they can put it on their tablet pc's as well. Sun shade for laptops while used in a car or outside Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by frgjr02 07/24/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
A sun shade is needed that folds up when not in use and would clip on to the LCD display. Blu-Ray drive on Dell M1330 laptop Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), XPS products, Laptops submitted by burtontyler_23 08/02/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Are there any plans for a Blu-Ray drive in the M1330 laptop. It's the only reason i haven't bought one. And why is there an HDMI out with no high-def drive? There should be an option of having no trialware on all computers Software submitted by jervis961 08/23/07 **REVIEWED**
Here is a news article about trialware and how Dell feels that regular customers want it but small business ones do. Do they not look at the ideas here? Standardize Power Cables for Laptops Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by badblood 08/27/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Nothing is more annoying than laptop power cables that are not interchangeable from one computer model to another or from one brand of computer to another. Power cables have been standardized on most electrical applicances, including desktop computers for decades. Stop Overcharging on Notebook RAM Sales Strategies, Laptops submitted by realskript 08/28/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Dell really... REALLY need to stop overcharging... and when i say overcharing... i mean atleast double what you would pay to pick up the ram yourself. Tell us what WiFi chipset a laptop has. Broadband and Mobility, Dell Web Site, Linux, Laptops submitted by tonyb2006 08/29/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Tell us the WiFi chipset used in a laptop before we buy it so we know if the WiFi chipset supports a feature we want, or if it supports Linux or another operating system that we intend to use. The WiFi chipset being like "Intel ipw2200" or "Broadcom BCM4306", or "Ralink rt2500". Sales Strategies, Software submitted by rgb66rgb 09/20/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Some purchasers already have subscriptions to anti-virus products that can be ported to new systems. Not having a 'no anti-virus' option on every system order page forces those users to essentially buy two licenses when only one machine will be used. Linux, Operating Systems, Sales Strategies submitted by xivulon 09/26/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
There are several proposals that basically ask the same thing: SHOW UBUNTU IN THE LIST OF OPERATING SYSTEM ON ALL MACHINES [subtract $50]. And why not, add XP to the list as well. There are also many more proposals that would be made redundant IF the above was implemented. If you add them all together that is probably the most requested feature at the moment. Yes I think many of the ideas below can be merged. Offer Windows XP SP3 when it comes out - now is the time to make sure Microsoft will let you. Sounds like WinXP Service Pack 3 will be coming out soon. Legal Blueray Playback on Ubuntu Linux submitted by prisma Jan 9 **UNDER REVIEW**
Ubuntu have a legal way to play DVD's with LinDVD on current Dell hardware offers which we the customers appreciate. However, windows hardware products come with an option to add a blueray player. Dell should add that option as well to their Ubuntu offers. A commercially available piece of software (like LinDVD) could be implemented to play blueray DVDs. Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Linux submitted by seniormartinez 07/28/07
I think Dell should use AMD processors instead of INTEL, or at least give you the option to customize, first of all i think it would make the computer performance increase and also it would be more affordable especially if you make a back-to-school package. Linux submitted by mtaboy 08/03/07
I think you could start making computers for children. It would not be a bad idea. You could put the operating system "edubuntu". The computer could be the same but for children! :) You could prob. make alot of money if you do not make the computers to expensive! :) Unleash the full potential of Linux's multi-user capabilities: Ubuntu + Ndiyo's Hubster Linux, Operating Systems - Multiboot, Desktops and Laptops submitted by limulus 08/02/07
When you think of a Windows machine, generally speaking, its a box connected to a monitor, keyboard and mouse, which one user uses at a time. Dell's Desktop Ubuntu machines are currently shipped the same way. Advertise Ubuntu a little more loudly Advertising and Marketing, Linux submitted by zhinker 05/16/07 **NOT NOW**
I may be wrong about this but it doesn't seem to me like Dell's done any sort of advertising at all for the new Ubuntu pc's that it'll be rolling out soon, except for it's initial declaration I haven't heard a word about on any non-linux media (everyone using linux knows about it of course). ... if you choose to on the sticker option (http://www.ideastorm.com/article/show/71730/Make_a_sticker_choice) should put the official ubuntu stickrs on there if you dont want any choose on the sticker option : none (if the sticker choice thingy ever gets implemented! Operating Systems submitted by mugunth 07/03/07 We all know that, Vista (and any 32 bit OS) cannot access memory more than 3.16 GB... Hence instead of a 4GB upgrade option, why don't Dell provide a 3GB (2DIMM) option (1 X 1GB + 1 X 2GB 2DIMMs) which would be cheaper than the 4GB upgrade? When Windows cannot access all the 4GB you provide, what's the use in investing extra money? 18 Comments » track my votes
