Ive always had this idea about laptops being customizable. Include cleaning and screen protection cloth with laptops Monitors and Displays, Laptops submitted by jkeating 11/02/07 A nice dell branded cleaning cloth should be included with new laptops. This cloth would be used to clean the laptop sceens as well as lay on top of the keyboard when the laptop is closed to protect the screen from keyboard imprints. If a cloth is included it is far more likely that this cloth would be used to clean rather than some other cleaning device which may damage a user's screen. 10 Comments » Make all Notebook power adapters the same Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by monseycomputers 11/01/07 Make all adapters the same, even if it’s a 65w or 90w but at least I should have the option to buy a 90w and power on every Dell laptop. My son is begging for a laptop, his current Dell Desktop is on its last legs anyway so I decided to look around. I can find a notebook for as low as $319.96 on sale at box stores and from $450 online from manufacturers. The cheapest Dell I can find starts at $549 and has worse specs than what I found elsewhere. I looked at desktops as well and the story is the same. I even checked the Dell outlet and they don't really even discount items that much there. Sales Strategies submitted by yank 05/20/07
Plenty of people spend a LOT of time shopping around on Dell's site for a great deal. They trust the brand and haven't the time or interest to build there own PC so when they see a good deal they try and buy that new Dell PC with as few options as they can manage. Dell should not charge $60.00 per year for PC Tune Up. Carbon Fiber, Magnesium Alloy, Titanium and other 'Exotic' materials Accessories (Keyboards, etc.) submitted by thorin_2 02/21/07
After literally MONTHS of research I finally settled on an IBM Thinkpad notepbook, not in small part due to the "coolness" or hip factor of having a laptop that partially consisted of carbon fiber casing (to reduce weight), a magnesium alloy "roll cage" (along with the accelerometer) to protect my data in case of a fall/drop, and even the optional titanium cover. These sorts of things set IBM apart from the crowd and eventually won me over. Sales Strategies, Desktops and Laptops submitted by ppaskova 07/30/07 Dell should implement price protection of any item bought from Dell for 30 days since purchase date. Dell has 30 days return policy with full refund to customer. Dell always has sales on different items on their Website. If person bought the item and in the next 30 days found this item for a cheaper price on Dell website he / she can always return previously bought item for full refund and buy it again from Dell for discounted price. In this case Dell will lose money on picking it from customer, reselling it and shipping new item to customer. Instead customer should have ability to notify Dell about this situation and receive difference in price as a credit. This should apply to desktops and notebooks with similar configuration as well. 2 Comments » Sales Strategies submitted by liquidfire 02/23/07 Offer price protection on your products at least 30 days. Dell can argue that computer systems change so fast that the product is never the same but for items like monitors and printers...come on... I was told to return the product, pay a restocking fee, buy the new product and save less than the restocking fee. This just doens't make sense.
