XPS, Inspiron with Santa Rosa Chipset and nvidia 8M graphics

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), New Product Ideas, Laptops submitted by tri 06/06/07

I thought, Apple would have problems with the new Intel Chipset and the 8M graphics (Driver Issues etc.) But they have released the new MacBook Pro in 15,4 and 17"

- they have upto 1920x1200 Screen (non-glare, LED lighted!!)

- nvidia 8600M GT graphics

- 2GB 667RAM built-in and

- newest Intel Chipset, Processor and WLAN

Come on Dell - wake up, announce news, do anything. It's sad to see thats all Notebook manufacturers make Santa Rosa Notebooks with DX10 Graphics and Dell stands beside it!!

- Also ist need for a new XPS (I want to buy one, if you put the newest parts in it!)

- Santa Rosa Chipset, WLAN n-Draft, DX10 Graphics (I've heard, the 8700M GT and the 8800M series of nvidia is released soon)

- 1920x1200 unglossy screen with LED lighted. Make it at least better than the Mac Book Pro 17"!!!!!!!!!

Sry for my english

Notebook integrated webcam & option for higher end graphics card

Inspiron products, Sales Strategies submitted by jj1908 02/17/07 **ALREADY OFFERED**

I find 12.1" too small & 17" too big for me.

Would love to see these on the 14.1" & 15.4" Inspiron lines

1.) Integrated webcam

2.) Option for higher ends dedicated graphics card. (Dell must show how much is dedicated & shared. Say 256MB = 128 dedicated + 128 shared.)

3.) Option for a dedicated graphics card on 14.1"

Also, how about adding DVI port on all inspirons.

On the XPS M1530 you can get an integrated webcam and a high end graphics card.

Silent Graphics Card Option

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Advertising and Marketing submitted by fahim.a.sabir 04/21/07

Hi,

Firstly, I think this is a great idea.

I recently bought a Dimension 9200 which included a GeForce 7900 which has fan that is really loud under Vista - so much so that when I put a passive 7600 in my machine, I could barely hear it.

I am actually quite disappointed as the machine was advertised as being cool and quiet. It is far from what I would describe as quiet and has forced me to spend a further £80 to get a replacement graphics card. The only reason I chose this particular card was because it was the cheapest one that gave me 2 DVI ports.

I have been given the excuse about fan control by drivers in Vista, and to be quite frank I don't care. Dell sold me the system, so I hold them responsible for any issues with it.

Please sort this out, these days - with the technology about, there is no reason for a computer to make any noise - I mean Apple computers are silent.... Comment »

increase Graphics Card choice on notebooks

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by chanux 02/21/07

Now that notebooks become the favourite buyer's choice, i think it should be possible to have a greater choice on which graphics card we want.

Some technology like MXM or AXIOM or others should allow to have a large number of combination between notebook and graphics card model.

(that's the reason why my last notebook is not a dell)

Upgradeable graphics cards in gaming notebooks

Gaming submitted by vw_gli_man 02/23/07

Gaming notebooks have become very powerful...for a year until the new games come out that make your graphics card obsolete. So, you just order a new graphics card. No, wait, you have to buy a new $2500 notebook. Game over. Comment »

Better graphics driver...

Gaming submitted by leviathan 02/24/07

Offer a better stock graphics driver, one that allows for removing the under-clocking options. You don't even have to offer overclocking, just to be able to NOT underclock your graphics card...

Thanks. Comment »

Graphics Card Upgrades

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by slowtomove 02/26/07

Notebook Graphics Cards should be designed so they can be updated as graphics technology improves. For example, i have a Dell Inspiron 5150 running at 3.06ghz, 120gig HD and 1.2gig of RAM. This is a fast notebook by any standards, but it is increasingly limited by the lack of graphics card updates. Laying out another $2000 just so I can have a (slower) notebook with a more capable graphics card seems silly to me. Comment »

Dedicated Graphics & Decent graphics!

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Desktops submitted by jman888 03/03/07

Seriously no desktop should come with Integrated Graphics even entry level deserves a x1300 . And the 999+ xps 410 Comes stock with a Intel Integrated graphics?
And their needs to be more BTO gpu options Like a E521 or whatever it is with a 5000+ AND a BTO x1950 Pro would be perfect. Oh and better PSU's (One of the things holding me back) Comment »

Huge Memory, High End Graphics Card, Large HD

Gaming submitted by icantseeyou 02/22/07

The speed of your computer, whether using the Internet, applications, or gaming is directly linked to how much memory you have and your graphics card. The speed of the processor is important but not as important as the above. Why not rate your products based on the above rather than on processor speed? 3 Comments »

Better graphics options in dell 15.4 inch laptops

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Gaming, Laptops submitted by deusx 04/21/07

I think that dell should offer better graphics cards in their 15.4 inch laptops in the inspiron line of laptops. Though you have excellent options in most of your 17 inch laptops such as the E1705 and the XPS 1710, the E1505 has no options for decent 3D cards and there are no XPS 15.4 inch laptops.

I propose that you add a 15.4 inch XPS laptop (with an excellent 3d Card) and also introduce better 3d cards into your 15.4 inspiron lineup for the budget-minded gamers out there. 1 Comment »

Higher end Graphics card in 14.1"

Laptops submitted by notquitehere188 02/17/07

Dell needs to stop pretending that they can't fit a higher end graphics card into a smaller laptop. ASUS puts x1600's and 7700's in their 14.1" laptops and dont have to make them much thicker or anything. 2 Comments »

Dedicated graphics for AMD notebooks

Monitors and Displays, Laptops submitted by migizi 07/13/07

How about some dedicated graphic card options for the AMD notebooks. You claim to be supporting both Intel and AMD but you don't even offer the same options for the AMD that you do for Intel. I know you can get motherboards for AMD laptops that support dedicated graphics. HP has had that option for awhile. Stop showing favoritism, you are only setting the AMD notebooks up for failure by not making them as appealing as the Intel. 1 Comment »
