XPS M1530 with LED Screen and 2MP Camera Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), XPS products submitted by marcusesq Jan 10
Potential buyers enquiring about LED backlit screens for the XPS M1530 are being told the following by Dell sales reps. Dell submitted by undead999 Jan 20
The hold music is too loud, sounds like crap at volume dell plays it at. Turning the volume down on my phone doesnt change how crappy it sounds. Silent / Quiet Computers: Sound levels in decibels Desktops and Laptops submitted by pchris 02/17/07 **REVIEWED**
I'd like Dell to provide the sound level in decibels for each of their desktops, under max load as well as at idle. Laptops submitted by jrat4 Jan 14 Make a split keyboard on dell laptops (much like the old IBM thinkpad butterfly design), to reduce wrist fatigue and pain that comes from typing. In other words re-design the keyboard so that it's more egronomic! 2 Comments » Improve the XPS One - I want to buy One! XPS products submitted by techiedude Jan 15

Have overclocking options in BIOS, as other motherboard manufacturers have. This should apply to high end gaming machines, designed for people who know what they are doing. Save Windows XP! E-SATA provides a way to add fast external storage with much better performance than USB or Firewire. Adding an E-SATA port would greatly improve the expandabiliy of Dell's notebook computers. 90 degree connector on laptop power supply Laptop Power submitted by pennir02 Jan 9
With the Latitude laptop power supply, the DC power cord terminates in a long proprietary coaxial plug. The electrical characteristics are fine. The problem I've experience is due to the mechanical stress that is transferred to the power jack or motherboard due to the plug exiting straight out the rear. When the connector is plugged in, it's length (about 35mm or so) can cause it to break the jacks solder connections and/or snap the motherboard if the User props up the front of the laptop or accidentally hits or bumps the connector against other desktop peripherals. XPS M1530 $150 screen upgrade is crimminal XPS products submitted by kingsriding Jan 12
I have been reading up on the xps quite a bit lately, I am considering a purchase. It appears the majority feel the screen resolution is sub par for the xps's price point. I completely agree! The funny thing is (or not so funny)) If you opt for the Inspiron instead of the xps, the upgrade to the high res. monitor is only $ 50 yet they ask $ 150 for the same upgrade on the xps 15.4" monitor!!!!!! What the heck is going on here. I am just about ready to give up on the whole DELL thing and go sony if I don't get some stright answers. drop DHL as a shipping courier Service and Support submitted by hrabak 06/01/07 I suggest that Dell drop DHL as their overnight shipping courier. I have been generally unsatisfied with their service to my workplace in the past, but this week was the icing on the cake. I'm very pleased with how Dell went above and beyond to resolve the situation, even refunding my shipping fee, but DHL's terrible service was unexplainable and inexcusable. This transaction has raised my opinion of Dell, but lowered my already low opinion of DHL. Though I would love to give Dell my business in the future, if it means waiting a week for an overnight package to arrive, I would consider shopping elsewhere, at least when I'm in a hurry. Please don't lose me (and others) as a customer because of another company's shoddy service! 51 Comments » White LED Screen for XPS M1530 XPS products submitted by realskript Jan 19

Dell needs to offer up the 64-bit versions so that 1/2 the warrenty is not voided when I load the 64-bit version from Microsoft using the same licence (which yes is valid). If MS can offer up these disks, why cant Dell? Support 64-bit Computing now 90% of the computers sold at Dell.com can support it. 21 Comments » Need Gigabit Ethernet in M1530. XPS products submitted by hoodedthing 12/06/07
What about Gigabit ethernet...? It's really not new technology, and it's pretty dissappointing not to see it in the m1530. It wouldn't be that hard to implement now.. Just start sticking gigabit ethernet ports in the laptops instead of 10/100. Easier way to OPT OUT of Dell selling my private information Advertising and Marketing submitted by ninefoot3 10/17/07 **IN PROGRESS**
I rec'd a brochure yesterday saying Dell and DFS were going to share my private info with other 3rd party companies for marketing purposes. Well, it said that in about 5,000 words or so. At the end is a box stating that I may opt-out of this by calling the number listed or writing a letter (including certain info) and send it to the listed address. Sales Strategies submitted by incubus240 Jan 20 Dell needs to offer faster RAM (i.e. If the FSB on the laptop is 800Mhz then match with 800Mhz RAM rather than 667Mhz RAM). I always have to buy the minimum amount of RAM for the system and end up throwing it away. They charge me $350 for 2GB of 667Mhz then I turn around and purchase 4GB of 800Mhz for $130. Since they make you buy at least 2GB... it is such a waiste! 7 Comments » Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Sales Strategies, Desktops and Laptops submitted by rarmasu 02/21/07 **PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED**
I find myself many, many times in dark or poorly lit environments having to guess the various keys - would be fantastic to have a backlit keyboard - with backlit individual keys as the best option. track my votes

Businesses are always looking for ways to save desk space and a monitor like this could do the trick. Different versions could be made based on the use of the monitor. I work with up to 6 monitors at a time and would rather look at a few of these than 6 singles. I wouldn't need 2ms response time or high def resolution because my screens are mostly text based but I would like to have a neater, roomier desk area.
