As a corporate customer I like Dell's products and my USA customer support. I have read the web about all the people that have had problems with Dell customer service and mine and others are not isolated incidences. If you want people to be loyal take a hint from the corporate sales and give Home users even a little customer support. My corporate help does not read scripts, they have the power to take ownership and fix the problem. Granted I do buy Gold support. If Dell thinks it saves money for bad support; I have personally talked 20 or 30 people out of buying a Dell. Simplest Laptop Alarm... Can it be this easy? I just thought of something that seems to be so obvious, it's... well... doh. Tell me what's wrong with the idea... Make Media Direct available for downlaod Dell Web Site, Software submitted by cgarjeff 06/27/07 There is nowhere to download Dell Media direct software. Not the repair utility, but the full 500MB+ file. Everything else is available but this software.I have searched and googled many times to find it, and always get a broken link to notebookforums.com. I have read numerous threads about how impossible it is to get the right media direct software from Dell. Please post machine specific files in the download sections. 3 Comments » Two PCs in one box (I don't mean dual/quad core) Desktops and Laptops submitted by si 06/28/07

Currently, only 10/100 is offered. This is exactly the form factor I want in a home PC: Desktops, New Product Ideas submitted by jmxz 06/30/07
This is exactly the form factor I want in a PC for most rooms (my living room, my home office, terminals for all the non-computer intensive users at work). It's fanless, and takes no unnecessary space in a room since it fits totally in (yes, in) the wall socket.. U.K. firm Jade Integration has unveiled a computer so small, it fits into a wall socket and is powered via Ethernet. The Jack PC, a rival to the smallest PC in the world, can hook up to a standard monitor, keyboard, and mouse, and runs Windows CE, the stripped-down version of Windows often used in portable devices. It comes with up to 64 MB of flash memory and 128 megs of RAM, so don't expect to play Half-Life 2 on it, but it should be able to handle basic Internet functions decently. With my home directory (and media files, etc) on file server in my garage anyway - and at work all compute intensive stuff is done on servers anyway, I don't need hard disks or fans or large boxes in most of the computers I use. It seems for everything except laptops (which need to be self contained) and gaming machines (where obviously you need bigger chips, more memories, and big graphics cards) I think this form factor computer would meet most needs. It's True. Gaming submitted by nicole41421 07/04/07 I feel it would be really great if you made gaming systems like Pogo and Disney available for Linux due to the fact that many people want to use both, can't hurt anything or be a bad idea 1 Comment » DELL with Tuquito for Latin America Linux, Operating Systems submitted by gonzalo 07/04/07 Tuquito is an easy-to-use, desktop-oriented Linux distribution which is very popular within Latin America, and is tailored for spanish-talking users. It would be a great OS for DELL PCs and laptops in the Latin-american market. 6 Comments » English Speaking Support in the Caribbean Service and Support submitted by creativepragmatic 06/28/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
I am based on an island in the English speaking Caribbean. Every time I order from Dell, I use the website because I fear not understanding or being misunderstood by the Spanish speaking reps assigned to my country. While I appreciate the Spanish speaking reps' efforts, communicating with them is frustrating for me and when I make a large order on behalf of a client, it is important that each order be 100% correct. Mistakes are costly for me, my clients and Dell. Dell should either set up a small sale/service center staffed by native English speakers to service customers in the English speaking Caribbean or route our calls to a North American center staffed by native English speakers. I live in a country where I know Dell sells a lot of computers, will likely sell more in the future as the country develops, and where people love famous brands. Providing native English support to native English customers should not be that difficult. Provide Training to Your Service Agents in India Service and Support submitted by badblood 06/27/07 Your service could be better with appropriate training. If your service was better you might sell more computers. 9 Comments » Dell Web Site submitted by robert 06/27/07

This may be a crazy idea but using computer for car basic functions control is not impossible to make some breakthrough! Such as much effective security and safety control would be area of consideration. 6 Comments » track my votes
