XPS Laptop Dual Cooling

XPS products, Laptops, Laptop Power submitted by funeagle Apr 27

1) Keep the internal fan for standard cooling when carrying the laptop around.

2) Allow the user to select a dual cooling (water plugs) as an option when configuring the laptop.

3) Hide the two water plugs inside the notebook like on the image bellow:

The user can:
1) Plug in the waterpipes when using it for extensive period at home
2) Pull out the waterpipes when moving the notebook

This way the users will be able to disperse the heat when using the laptop at home using powerful and yet affordable cooling to make the laptop enjoyably silent. Imagine a silent laptop with a reserator like on the picture bellow:

Dell laptop design needs refining

Laptops submitted by mattbambow Apr 24

Grey and black is no longer has the cache it once had, wouldn't it be better for Dell to take a slightly alternative approach on some laptops by creative cutting-edge, bespoke styled laptops for consumers. Laptops could be designed in terms of look and feel by those within the Dell Ideastorm, or designers themselves similar to the way that Sky+ has outsourced design to be able to charge a premium. 1 Comment »

Custimizing home computers

Sales Strategies, Desktops and Laptops submitted by karlgo Apr 3

I was very disapointed to read the article from Dell upper management saying they will move away from customizing computers. That is the very reason I switched to Dell! It must be time to move on because when it comes down to it, they all make PCs about the same don't they. I can't tell enough how that is a bad idea. Everyone is panicing because of a temporary slow-down in our economy. Dell is panicing. They do this and Dell will drive so many customers right in the arms of HP. Dell is making a huge mistake in competing with HP...Dell blinked. 17 Comments »

Do not scale back build-to-order systems

Desktops and Laptops submitted by masterr Apr 5 **ALREADY OFFERED**

Today in the news I read that Dell "is moving away from its build-to-order model to reduce costs. Dell is limiting the degree to which buyers can dictate specifications while expanding its line of prepackaged models". Please do not do this. The options build-to-order system is what sets Dell above some of the competition. By scaling this back and removing customization choices you remove some of the appeal of buying a Dell machine online. Please do not scale this back.
