MultiCard reader on Laptops should include a CF card reader. Inspiron products submitted by benjesuit 04/02/07
The Mulicard reader currently on DELL Inpsirons cannot read CF cards. More Choice of Graphic cards on (Home & Home Office) Laptops and Desktops. Desktops, Gaming, Inspiron products submitted by fahdriyami Feb 3 Sometimes when looking for a reasonablly priced notebook or desktop i would go for the Inspiron range, and im a gamer, when customizing my pc i just wonder why is there only one or two choices of graphic cards?!, most of them support the same bus type, so why not offer them?! eg, the best Inspiron notebook you offer only comes with a GeForce 8600M GT, can you just offer an 8700M with it at least? i know you did it for a reason and its probably a good one but im just curious...thinking of it, an Inspiron with an 8800M sounds ok :D 3 Comments » Gaming, Monitors and Displays submitted by hjwasson 05/09/07
There are many posts regarding the fact that TrueLife displays are far too reflective for brightly backlit conditions. User responses to the complaints suggest getting a business class display with anti-glare filter - but these displays have not kept pace, are too dim, have poor pixel response rates and often have poor color rendition. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-reflective_coatingI'm sure that Seiko, Hoya, Essilor, iCoat and others would vie for the chance to open up a new market for their coatings, and thus bring more profits to them (and lower costs to us). Some IdeaStorm members might be concerned about scratching the coating - but consider: 1. LCD panels are already prone to scratching, and care must be taken in their cleaning. 2. Modern Anti-Reflective (AR) coatings, with their multiple layers, are far more resistant to scratching than they used to be. 3. AR coatings tend to repel dust, so the need for cleaning would be less frequent. 4. With the use of a microfiber cloth (and mild liquid cleaning formulations when needed), the AR coating and display will remain pristine for many years of service. If you would like to see modern Anti-Reflective coatings applied to TrueLife displays (as an optional upgrade) please promote this post. 6 Comments » gives a higher graphic card for 15 inch XPS laptop Gaming, XPS products submitted by hanlya May 6 it is better if Dell offer a gaming product with high graphic in 15 inch laptop..for example m1530..dell should offer for an additional better video card such as 8800Gt or 8700 GT..and this m1530 will be like kaboom...1 of the best 15 inch laptop ever build..so i suggest dell put additional option for higher graphic or just build a new product 15 inch laptop with gaming characteristic..or maybe m1535..with a better video card.. 2 Comments » GeForce 9M series of laptop GPUs on Dell XPS laptop XPS products, Laptop Power submitted by helmecj01 Jun 3

Hi, Advertise Graphics RAM correctly Advertising and Marketing submitted by joffe100 04/20/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
When we say we want to buy a 512Mb graphics card we really do want a 512Mb graphics card - not 512Mb with 256mb physical memory with 256mb shared! This is really BAD and misleading advertising - you do not see other RAM memory being sold 1Gb (512Mb physical, 512Mb shared!) This issue has been ignored by Dell, and other manufactures for far too long. I was hoping the issue had been addressed with the new M1330 laptop I just bought, but it has not. Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Desktops submitted by couldntgetaname Jun 21
Instead of providing restore discs, driver/utilities packages and all the other clutter that comes with a new computer - many of which require license keys or passwords that are easily lost or forgotten - why can't users be supplied with a simple combined USB flash drive and security dongle? This would do away with a pile of CDs that generally just end up being lost or scratched in the bottom of a drawer and cut down on lots of time consuming web trawling to deal with relatively minor problems. addition of 13.3" to Vostro notebook line Inspiron products, Monitors and Displays, Vostro products submitted by ojisan 10/05/07 **IMPLEMENTED**
Am I alone in wanting a less bulkier notebook? I think it would be great, if reducing general bulk is not viable, to have a 13.3" screen option in the Vostro notebook line, with the configuration options of a 14.1" with dedicated graphics. It was possible on a XPS1210, Dell should not have a problem with 13.3", unless it was some sort of marketing decision to go with bigger notebooks. From what I've seen, Dell's 12.1" notebooks in the past were big sellers, I don't think there are any worries of not selling enough of them to not warrant an option. As I travel a lot for a small company, I would really love the idea of a more compact notebooks with the least sacrifice for power as much as possible while keeping the attractive price range and small business-minded features of a Vostro line. Recharge Lithium-Sulfur over and over again. Sulfur is cheaper than heavy metals, and friendly to the environment. No toxic metals, and also better performing in colder temperatures. Lithium-Sulfur batteries also weigh less than Lithium Ion batteries. Standardize Power Cables for Laptops Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by badblood 08/27/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Nothing is more annoying than laptop power cables that are not interchangeable from one computer model to another or from one brand of computer to another. Power cables have been standardized on most electrical applicances, including desktop computers for decades. I find myself many, many times in dark or poorly lit environments having to guess the various keys - would be fantastic to have a backlit keyboard - with backlit individual keys as the best option. Laptops, Laptop Power submitted by badblood 05/20/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
