Dell Small Business vs Dell Home Sales Strategies submitted by jamesmoroni1 May 2
The split between Dell Small Business and Dell Home has been an endless source of confusion and frustration for price-sensitive customers. I don't see the need for the two separate divisions. I've purchased computers from both, and keeping track of where I bought which machine is very frustrating. It also makes it harder to be sure you're getting the best price. Create a blog describing some features of future products. Advertising and Marketing, Dell Web Site submitted by ccpljat Apr 27 I think you should have a page where you describe some of the product ideas that are soon to be available so that people can see where you are going and what your plans are. You wouldn't have to put full details out, but just some bait. This would probably help your sales. Also, some pre-release pictures of products would be nice. You may already have something like this in place. If you do, then you are ahead of me. 2 Comments » Monitors and Displays, Sales Strategies submitted by ekozel Apr 14 It took 3 hours to get a replacement monitor for a bad monitor. Unfortunately Dell does not service tag monitors. In a 350 PC environment the business user doesn't always have access to records 1 or 2 years old. Also in this environment monitors and PCs move around and sometimes the pc it was ordered with is no longer the PC it's attached to, or if it was ordered without a PC makes it's very difficult to get a replacement monitor. You should consider placing a service tag on all monitors so that they can easily be tracked back to the origin of sale. Expecting the customer to maintain a record of hundreds of monitors and which ones were purchased when and the order number just isn't a feasible solution. It aggrivates the customer and takes too long to find a solution to get the replacement monitor they need. If not a service tag a serial number. 3 Comments » Laptops submitted by steve121 Apr 14

I find myself many, many times in dark or poorly lit environments having to guess the various keys - would be fantastic to have a backlit keyboard - with backlit individual keys as the best option. Software submitted by ootleman 02/16/07 **PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED**
Would love the ability to have a clean Vista install. No AOL software, no earthlink software, no google software - just a clean, original OS. There should be an option of having no trialware on all computers Software submitted by jervis961 08/23/07 **REVIEWED**
Here is a news article about trialware and how Dell feels that regular customers want it but small business ones do. Do they not look at the ideas here? A NEW AGE FOR LAPTOPS BEGiNS """" PORTABLE LAPTOPS """" Laptops submitted by fatihbarut Apr 7
Laptops must be portable. And all parts of it (CPU-RAM-Video Card) must be replaceable like cd-dvd driver or battery of the laptop. (picture 3 Operating Systems submitted by jmxz Apr 4
Interesting CNet article:
Yeah, I know that so far Microsoft only announced they'll be letting manufacturers do this on low-end computers. But Dell, for your customers, ask them to make it available on your higher end models as well. 15 Comments » drop DHL as a shipping courier Service and Support submitted by hrabak 06/01/07 I suggest that Dell drop DHL as their overnight shipping courier. I have been generally unsatisfied with their service to my workplace in the past, but this week was the icing on the cake. I'm very pleased with how Dell went above and beyond to resolve the situation, even refunding my shipping fee, but DHL's terrible service was unexplainable and inexcusable. This transaction has raised my opinion of Dell, but lowered my already low opinion of DHL. Though I would love to give Dell my business in the future, if it means waiting a week for an overnight package to arrive, I would consider shopping elsewhere, at least when I'm in a hurry. Please don't lose me (and others) as a customer because of another company's shoddy service! 48 Comments » track my votes
