English Speaking Support in the Caribbean Service and Support submitted by creativepragmatic 06/28/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
I am based on an island in the English speaking Caribbean. Every time I order from Dell, I use the website because I fear not understanding or being misunderstood by the Spanish speaking reps assigned to my country. While I appreciate the Spanish speaking reps' efforts, communicating with them is frustrating for me and when I make a large order on behalf of a client, it is important that each order be 100% correct. Mistakes are costly for me, my clients and Dell. Dell should either set up a small sale/service center staffed by native English speakers to service customers in the English speaking Caribbean or route our calls to a North American center staffed by native English speakers. I live in a country where I know Dell sells a lot of computers, will likely sell more in the future as the country develops, and where people love famous brands. Providing native English support to native English customers should not be that difficult. FlightGear open source flight simulator pre-install option Gaming, Software submitted by arclight 02/24/07
It is a free open source flight simulator that could be offered on systems. Dell could charge to have it pre-installed with scenery (or for a certain amount of software support). Im not suggesting just installing it on everything, but offering it as an option along with the other software that can be selected when configuring a system. Linux, Sales Strategies, Desktops and Laptops submitted by davewizard 06/28/07
We all know that Dell sells excellent machines but... some hardware and OS (linux) options are only valid in the US!, here in the non US world we would really love to have the same buying options and benefits Mike Dell - Buy a Plug In Prius+ and see what a difference you can make! Computers configured specifically for senior citizens New Product Ideas, Desktops and Laptops submitted by lauras 06/06/07 Setting up for my parents has been difficult. There are many more features than they need... A computer configured just for seniors would be fantastic. 11 Comments » Monitors and Displays submitted by jerenet 06/05/07 Wouldn't it be nice to be able to mount a computer and monitor in a rack? I think it would. You could make it with one piece plus keyboard and mouse. 2 Comments » SAVE PAPER - Include Whole Project Gutenberg 20,000 free books on all new Dells Environment, Education submitted by reg 06/06/07 **NOT NOW**

Do a deal with the high street electronic shops to sell Dell/Ubuntu direct to the public. They can deal direct with the customers and returned goods and you get to sell more units. A high end multimedia unit would fly off the shelves. People don't care what's under the hood as long as it works. Color all Desktops and Notebooks green Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Desktops and Laptops submitted by gferrigno 06/06/07 In an effort to remind customers of Dell's commitment to the Green movement, Dell should color all Desktops and Notebooks green. The change will be dramatic enough to get people's attention. 2 Comments » Advertising and Marketing submitted by badblood 06/05/07
There is a tendency to communicate tech products to the main purchasing audience - people between 20-40, people who are often more technically knowledgeable. This is because the people who sell or market these products are often from these groups But people outside these groups have a stake in Dell products and services and they should be communicated with too. Dell has now decided to sell computers with Linux pre-installed. GREAT MOVE! But for the moment, it only concerns the US... Here outside the US, we can't wait to buy a pre-installed Linux Dell PC! Please sell Linux PCs worldwide! Software submitted by ootleman 02/16/07 **PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED**
Would love the ability to have a clean Vista install. No AOL software, no earthlink software, no google software - just a clean, original OS. Have Firefox pre-installed as default browser Software submitted by robinjfisher 02/19/07 **REVIEWED**
Does what it says on the tin! Most people only use IE because they aren't aware of other browsers - they think Internet Explorer is the Internet! What would really drive take up of alternative browsers is if Firefox was pre-installed as the default browser so that when people look for the "Internet" in Windows, they are using FF. track my votes
