After about 8 hours of demoting linux repeats, suggesting changes to Windows (where's Microsoft's IdeaStorm), all kinds of 3rd party hardware Dell should sell, people posting their personal information, and blank posts galore, there should really be a Top Ten for the day/week/month/year. Here is a suggestion for us small business owner techs that don’t purchase “gold or platinum” level support for our in-house desktops. We have or are qualified in-house technical support. We have or hold numerous industry certifications, including Associate DSCE certification status. However our company isn’t big enough to qualify for the warranty parts direct program. I like to format my PC and give it a clean install once every year or so. It just makes everything run faster and keeps the system stable. When I bought my Dell Inspiron, it came with a picture of a CD and a note, saying something to the effect of "please contact Dell if you need original software". vanilla kernel ".config" file for major point releases... For example, on my Inspiron 8100 the ethernet port is on the lower right corner of the case which is exacly where a right-handed user wants to have his/her mouse. You are not alone. I have an IBM (now Lenovo) laptop at work that has the PC card interface on the lower left corner. Try plugging an 802.11 wireless card into it and not have your hand act as an RF absorber so that access point connectivity is poor. Do you guys ever use a system before you commit it to market?
