Accessories (Keyboards, etc.) submitted by pablohs Apr 28 Ok, I know it sounds crazy, but what about a wireless docking station? A little black box where I can connect keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer, network, etc. (several usb ports will be nice). Then I just plug my laptop to the wall (so it does not run out of battery), but I don't need to loacate it under the monitor and/or snap it to the box. Everything works wireless. An application similar to direct media will allow me to access the hard drive and aplication without having to open and or turn the laptop on. If I am going to do something quick, I amy even leave the laptop in the case and use the battery to power it. 10 Comments » 64 Bit Windows Edition With 32 Bit Virtualization Operating Systems submitted by stargatefan 04/23/07
It's time to upgrade all systems up to 64 bit machines. It is the future and we need to embrace it. I think Dell is in a posistion to start offering systems that are fully 64 bit. The problem with doing so is compatability issues with 32 bit applications. Windows Vista tries to fix that but it isn't all there yet, hopefully they will better it along with everything else with SP1. But even with Windows XP which Dell is still offering (Way to go, Windows Vista isn't quiet ready yet, soon but not yet, so great move), we can offer 64 bit editions. Notebook Shells Are Plastic - Offer Metal Casings Too Laptops submitted by googideas 02/17/07
Notebooks get carried everywhere. Shouldn't Dell offer an aluminum or otherwise metal casing/construction as an option? Accessories (Keyboards, etc.) submitted by ashearer 02/22/07 Come up with a small, light power adaptor with very flexible cords and solid connections. Like Apple! Comment » Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by cmrocha 03/05/07 I think it´s a good idea to have light under the keyboard, so it´s possibel to work with the notebook even when it´s dark, with no need of a additional source of light. 4 Comments » Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Sales Strategies, Desktops and Laptops submitted by rarmasu 02/21/07 **PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED**
I find myself many, many times in dark or poorly lit environments having to guess the various keys - would be fantastic to have a backlit keyboard - with backlit individual keys as the best option. Lighted Keyboard standard with desktops New Product Ideas submitted by dude2007 12/28/07
I would like to see lighted keyboards as a standard with your computers. Dell submitted by theonlyho 05/13/07 Maybe I'm not up to date, but since Apple has lighted up keyboards, it'd be awesome if laptops have lighted up keyboards also. It might be out on Dell now or not, lighted up keyboards are handy either way. 5 Comments » Standardize Power Cables for Laptops Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by badblood 08/27/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Nothing is more annoying than laptop power cables that are not interchangeable from one computer model to another or from one brand of computer to another. Power cables have been standardized on most electrical applicances, including desktop computers for decades. Stop Calling Me By My First Name! Service and Support submitted by celesjalee Apr 9

Make longer lasting batteries for better portability Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptop Power submitted by winoffice 05/05/07 **IN PROGRESS**
Don't make us recharge our laptops' batteries so often! A recent Cnet article (posted at Cnet's news site at about May 5, 2007) explains that Windows Vista's Aero Glass feature gives you less battery life. So, if we want Windows Vista, then we either have to recharge more often, or pay extra for more and better batteries! Instead, make Dell get rid of the batteries which quickly lose their charge...and come up with something that would give us longer battery life as follows (under Windows Vista), without making us stay away from Windows Vista or pay an extra $99 for another and better battery. Printers and Ink, Laptops submitted by buttafuco 06/26/07
it would be so cool if you could print something without having to carry a separate, bulky printer, just your laptop. or instead of having to find a kinkos or hotel business center where they will charge you $.50 a page or something crazy. i think the technology is small enough that it could be incorporated into the bottom of the laptop as an option for people on the go. Dell could either make it like a battery that you can pop out and put a paper thru and bluetooth send from your computer or where the printer is actually part of the laptop like a bottom layer. track my votes
