Linux, Operating Systems, Sales Strategies submitted by xivulon 09/26/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
There are several proposals that basically ask the same thing: SHOW UBUNTU IN THE LIST OF OPERATING SYSTEM ON ALL MACHINES [subtract $50]. And why not, add XP to the list as well. There are also many more proposals that would be made redundant IF the above was implemented. If you add them all together that is probably the most requested feature at the moment. Yes I think many of the ideas below can be merged. No Limits! Make **all** choices available **anywhere** in the world Sales Strategies submitted by mrw 09/16/07
First example: The Germans are second class customers, because they don't get the same choices for Ubuntu Laptops as in the USA. We here in Switzerland are even third class customers, because we do not get an Ubuntu Laptop at all. Internationalisation of Ideastorm IdeaStorm submitted by premcv 07/26/07

Dell announced to pre-load Ubuntu on Notebooks and Desktops for US market. What about for Europe? We want for Europe market too... users from Switzerland, Germany, France, UK, Austria, Spain, and others are requesting the same. Same discounts available on Ubuntu and Windows Linux, Operating Systems, Sales Strategies submitted by jonsmirl 06/12/07 **PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED** I'm ordering a Vista XPS 410 right now. I wanted a Ubuntu one but I'm going to throw away yet another copy of Windows. The Vista XPS 410 has $200 off today and free ship for a total of $869. The identical Ubuntu machine is $1019 plus $29.99 shipping. So today Ubuntu costs $170 more than Windows instead of $50 less. Why can't I have the same discounts on the Ubuntu machine? 50 Comments » Pre-Installed OpenOffice | alternative to MS Works & MS Office Software, Desktops and Laptops submitted by dhart 02/17/07

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Desktops, Gaming submitted by shirk 05/19/07 Stop offering quad core CPU, SLI graphic cards, and terabyte hard drive systems that are limited to older low speed memory. Customers who purchase these higher end systems want their components to be up to date and cutting edge, so drop the ancient 533-667 mhz memory. Also stop crippling motherboards so that they wont support higher speed memory so customers are stuck without a choice. Give customers current memory, 800 mhz and up, for their brand new systems. 2 Comments » Better Notebook sound and features Laptops submitted by foxx 02/17/07
I was looking for a high end notebook for video editing. Every Dell model I looked at was missing something essential. Advertise Graphics RAM correctly Advertising and Marketing submitted by joffe100 04/20/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
When we say we want to buy a 512Mb graphics card we really do want a 512Mb graphics card - not 512Mb with 256mb physical memory with 256mb shared! This is really BAD and misleading advertising - you do not see other RAM memory being sold 1Gb (512Mb physical, 512Mb shared!) Make longer lasting batteries for better portability Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptop Power submitted by winoffice 05/05/07 **IN PROGRESS**
Don't make us recharge our laptops' batteries so often! A recent Cnet article (posted at Cnet's news site at about May 5, 2007) explains that Windows Vista's Aero Glass feature gives you less battery life. So, if we want Windows Vista, then we either have to recharge more often, or pay extra for more and better batteries! Instead, make Dell get rid of the batteries which quickly lose their charge...and come up with something that would give us longer battery life as follows (under Windows Vista), without making us stay away from Windows Vista or pay an extra $99 for another and better battery. Apply an Energy Star Rating System to your Products Environment submitted by badblood 05/18/07
Everyone has a role to play in protecting the environment. Choosing an energy efficient appliance is one way to do this while saving money. Apply a star rating for all your products, which rates their energy consumption and ability to be recycled. Laptops submitted by kdickensheets 05/21/07 Why not have cooling for laptops draw air from the sides and exhaust through the back rather than the bottom. Travelers often put their laptop on their hotel beds or sit them on their laps on airplanes usually blocking the fan opening make the unit overheat. My wife often leaves hers running on the bed and it heats up because of lack of proper air circulaton. 13 Comments » Solid State Drive as option in Notebooks Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by tablet205 03/28/07 **IMPLEMENTED**

Recycle your old Dell back to Dell for a 10% discount on new equipment. Dell can then secure overwrite erase the hard drive, install Ubuntu + hardware drivers, then donate the hardware to unemployment, food stamp, and welfare offices Nationwide. The social services offices then can pass out the refurbished used equipment to its clients, and Dell can be given BIG tax breaks by the State and Federal Systems. track my votes
