Upgrade ability for Desktops!

Desktops, Sales Strategies submitted by ajmukon Mar 6

Increase the upgradability (sp?) of all Desktop units.

Currently, the only upgrade options are RAM, HD, Video card (which is in itself low), and Disk drives.

allow us the option of upgrading our motherboard, cpu, PSU (if we get a larger video card), above, etc (if you can think of anymore, post a comment!) 25 Comments »

Use the Sonata Battery

Environment, Laptop Power submitted by ajmukon Mar 2

Your effort to increase the life of a Notebook battery may be over:
introducing the "Sonata"
http://www.boston-power.com/en/products/products.asp
http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/30/boston-power-unveils-long-lasting-sonata-l...
This revolutionary new design will allow for 80% power up after a record 1,000 cycles (or so claimed- i have found no evidence yet)- so it will remain at 80% for up to three years (life of the average notebook)

[ie- it will reach 80% of its total power after 3 years or 1,000 cycles or it will take longer to reach 80%] 5 Comments »

RAM TO THE MAX

Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Desktops, XPS products submitted by ajmukon Feb 28

Many retail motherboards can support up to 8GB of DDR2-800 PC64000 RAM.

Why can't DELL motherboards do the same?

My suggestion:

Increase the upgradability of the RAM on all Desktops, and increase the upgradability of all XPS componants (IE: PSU, CPU, etc) 22 Comments »

Total Control

Dell Web Site submitted by ajmukon Feb 12

This idea is simple.

Allow users to make a PC from scratch.....

Allow them to choose the ANY chassis, CPU, PSU [Power Supply Unit], GPU [Graphics Processor Unit], ANY OS (including 32/64 bit), ANY Peripherals wanted, ANY RAM amount....... etc 15 Comments »

Sell your products on online retialers

Dell Web Site submitted by ajmukon Feb 11

i was looking for some DELL parts [read: monitor] and i looked at Newegg, com for a monitor, but could not find it.

I think you could greatly increase your product sales by selling through an online retialer. (like www.newegg.com) since most people buy computer parts online. 2 Comments »

DELL POWER SUPPLY

Desktops, Sales Strategies submitted by ajmukon 12/21/07

this one is simple:
allow customers to specify what Power Supply they want;
(allow them to choose a 500W - 1000W Power Supplies (PSU)
like they can get a larger PSU for "future upgradability" of a smaller cheaper one for "general use" (of course an error will come up if they choose a PSU that is too small for their system.) 5 Comments »
