DELL XPS M1330 with more Graphic Memory ! 3GB instead of 4GB of RAM ! XPS products submitted by micatdell 07/11/07
A better Graphic Memory for DELL XPS M1330 ! MORE THAN 128 MB ! Stop cutting off unused connectors Desktops submitted by tired_ 07/11/07 I've noticed Dell systems permanently disable unused connections on the motherboard. For example, a friend of mine just bought a Dimension E521, intending to put his old 250GB IDE hard drive into it to go with the new SATA hard drive Dell provided. We were stunned to discover that, while there was a Primary IDE connection on the motherboard, the plug where you connect the cable had been cut off the board! Now, I can't see how cutting off a connector like this adds any value for Dell, and I certainly saw how disappointed and annoyed my friend was, especially considering that Dell never informed him before purchase that the system would be artificially constrained from upgrades. Please stop doing this. 7 Comments » Dell, Laptops submitted by mkmaster78 07/09/07
Ok I fully admit there may be a high likelihood of this being a dupe but I couldn't find this in any search. Basically it goes like this, laptops are almost completely nonupgradeable (I know Badblood posted about making upgradeable laptops) and no two different styles can interchange parts. This idea is something that would help this along immensely. Dell should create an open standard for laptop design (such as desktops have ATX, microATX, BTX, etc) and release a series of laptops based on it with the ability to purchase parts later that the user can install themselves as they would with a desktop. Alienware (which as we know Dell owns) does something similar, but this standard could be released openly across all manufacturers allowing an experience with your laptop much like that of a desktop. This would allow for not only more options for laptops but also a longer laptop lifetime as parts could be swapped in and out as desired or required (in case of hardware failure). Environmental Laptop Based on Solar Energy/Hydrogen Fuel Cell Environment, Laptop Power submitted by gchakra 02/17/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
What's smart for the environment is smart for Dell. Dell should build units that are degradable or can be easily recycled. Sure, its going to be a little more expensive, but it will be a smart product. It will use a lot less energy. The laptops could have a solar panel or be powered by a hydrogen fuel cell. The first microelectronic implementation of a fuel cell will give Dell a tremendous marketing boost. It will be incredibly popular with kids in college. Dell - Tell us if this explains why it's so hard to get No OS on many Dell models? Operating Systems submitted by jmxz 07/10/07
The Idea is that if there's a reason like this that Dell won't offer No OS on more systems, they should just come out and say ...in 2000, Microsoft ratcheted the restriction up so that OEMs are forced to forfeit all discounts otherwise earned if they ship any "naked machines" to consumers. This heightened restriction, which (on information and belief) continues to the present, prohibits PC users and PC retailers from buying and installing lower priced or better quality operating systems of their choice."10 Comments » Servers and Storage, Desktops and Laptops submitted by minger 07/08/07 I'm just thinking that it would be better to use this on the notebooks and desktops - there can be up to a 7 degree celcius drop in temperature. 8 Comments » Chat support as good as phone support with ability to "transfer" Service and Support submitted by jaylus12 07/11/07
Every department should have a chat support, and one chat agent should be able to forward you to another chat agent. Monitors and Displays submitted by mcfazeli 07/11/07
The next round of upgrades to the high-end Dell display line should bring in LED backlighting and 120 HZ true refresh rate if possible. Not only would this enhance the contrast and colour reproduction of the screen (assuming you still aim for the 92% NTSC gamut like the 3007 HC model), but it would be more energy efficient, and natively support the 24 fps media like Blu-ray and HD DVD. Thanks for the honesty: "Dell warns of Vista upgrade challenges" Advertising and Marketing, Operating Systems, Sales Strategies, Software submitted by jmxz 07/05/07 **ALREADY OFFERED**
Interesting article here: Dell warns of Vista upgrade challenges Published: 04 Jul 2007 18:02 BST And as the media's reporting, this is especially nice since it's not necessarily in Dell's short-term best interest to do so: http://vista.blorge.com/2007/07/05/dell-warns-businesses-of-windows-vista-woes/ Many people would think it would be advantageous for Dell to simply promote Vista as much as it can but it is taking a step back and telling businesses to consider “holding off”...Nice that Dell sees that long term the trust of their customers matters more than the short term extra sales of a few memory chips. This is re-assuring to hear you saying it publicly and helps people trust you more. Idea: Keep being honest. It's refreshing. 6 Comments » Laptops submitted by ruvenss 07/13/07

Offer 8400M GT on the XPS M1330 not the current GS Version! XPS products submitted by tolkan 07/10/07
The Why offer the GS Which is much weaker than the GT Version. By offering the GT version the M1330 would be the best of performance and work. Considering that the 8400M GT is referred to as an under clocked 8600M GS. I really want to purchase the XPS M1330 so please Promote this. If there is currently another idea on this topic please do tell me so i can promote. Dell, Education, Sales Strategies submitted by doomlord52 07/09/07 **ALREADY OFFERED** A lot of companys offer this. A student discount. Apple sells their Macs for 20% less if your a student. Software companies often offer this on usefull products, such as Cinema 4d, Photoshop, and so on. If dell could offer this, it would help students get dell computers FROM dell. Although you can get a dell pc for $1000 or so, their not really that powerful. This kind of discont would be good on percision, Dimensions and notebooks. 15 Comments » Dedicated graphics for AMD notebooks Monitors and Displays, Laptops submitted by migizi 07/13/07 How about some dedicated graphic card options for the AMD notebooks. You claim to be supporting both Intel and AMD but you don't even offer the same options for the AMD that you do for Intel. I know you can get motherboards for AMD laptops that support dedicated graphics. HP has had that option for awhile. Stop showing favoritism, you are only setting the AMD notebooks up for failure by not making them as appealing as the Intel. 1 Comment » Offer computers without an OS installed! I realize this idea is slightly crazy, but hear me out. Dell offer a No-OS option in {insert your country here} for all possible computer systems you offer. Linux, Operating Systems submitted by jorge 07/11/07
