Pick up the pace on the status tags By jervis961,  Sep 18, 2007

I thought Michael Dell always reviews the top 20 ideas on the site and the Executive board discusses them as well. There are ideas on the front page without a staus tag. You might want to look at page 2 also as all but 4 ideas have no status tag assigned.

DELL/ Status Update

All ideas now have status tags.  Please see the About IdeaStorm page and look under FAQs for an explanation of the status tags

He reviews them but it doesn't mean he actually understands them or can interpret them into something he wants to do in his company if my guess. Who needs more sales when you're being hounded by the IRS?

Of the 3009 ideas on the site 369 have been tagged. 279 ideas have a score over 1000 but only 79 of those have been tagged. Why are they tagging ideas that aren't popular but leaving the popular ones unmarked??? http://d354310.u39.digiweb.ie/ideastorm/stats.htm

Darn, I thought I'd find pictures here. Thanks jervis... rather than just quickly tag things "under review", we're trying to confirm their status before tagging. Agree we're behind on the status tags and we'll definitely catch up this week. Saw your addition to the title of the top idea.

Sorry to dissappoint. I figured nothing else was working, would you like the title changed back?

Petzy - one of the complaints on IdeaStorm is the lack of participation from Dell. Here is a quote from the about section ( http://www.ideastorm.com/about ) of this site.... "It is with this mindset that we created Ideastorm. The name is a take-off on the word GÇ£brainstormGÇ¥ and it is our way of building an online community that brings all of us closer to the creative side of technology by allowing you to share ideas and interact with other customers and Dell experts. You can suggest new products or services youGÇÖd like to see Dell develop or tell the world how you feel about major trends in technology and society. We hope this site fosters a candid and robust conversation about your ideas. Our commitment is to listen to your input and ideas to improve our products and services, and the way we do business. We will do our best to keep you posted on how Dell brings customer ideas to life. " Here is another. "Does Dell monitor Ideastorm? Yes, Dell executives and managers will monitor Ideastorm to gauge which ideas are most important and most relevant to you. Occasionally, we will weigh in on an ongoing discussion or ask for additional input on an idea. " This idea is asking for Dell to live up to its side of the exchange. We have been told that they monitor the site and the most popular ideas get looked at. They started doing status tags to show what they were up to but that has fallen by the wayside. When an Idea is #1 for over a month now and still has no staus tag, it looks like someone is napping at the wheel or doesn't really care. I created this idea as a gentle nudge to remind them but it didn't seem to work. I posted the idea on September 18th and by the 25th had no response so I reported abuse in the idea saying there were naked pictures (figured that would get there attention) and put in a comment explaining why. It took dell_admin a day to follow up, good thing I didn't actually post any pictures. I even went as far as to add to the title of the idea calling out Michael Dell in hopes of getting a response. When dell_admin1 commented on the 26th about catching up last week I offered to change the title back but didn't get a response until yesterday (at the very end of the day that is). I've gotten to a point where it doesn't really bother me that much anymore but I still feel the need to at least try to get them to do more with the site. They do a have a real gem here but unfortunatly they are wasting an opportunity. There is so much they could learn to change the company for the better and many people trying to help but its just a one way conversation most of the time.

I posted another reply as well. I don't understand why they would ignore a front page idea even if it has only been there for a few days. Not like the front page changes a lot, so it would be something new to talk about. If they started tagging ideas faster people would feel more like they are being heard.
