Consider giving home users an option to have a North American Based Support Plan as an "add on" when configuring a Dell system.

    Oh, sorry... I know about the quality of VOIP... it's getting better, but it still mostly sucks! You know immediately when you've ended up in the WRONG queue when the hold music starts to skip and fade and you think about trying again, but you've already waited ten minutes... Yeah those are bad calls.

    Captain, I didn't say anything about the nationality of the person with whom I spoke, nor their hair or eye color. I simply want quality, second-level or above technical support over a quality telephone connection. My experience with other service providers is that offshore support is often conducted over VoIP lines with someone that is reading from a script, and I've read of similar experiences on other Dell forums. I want and am willing to pay for more than that. Go diversity and go quality!

    you could still get an Indian American... Or any combination of other languages. If you want blond-haired blue-eyed tech support, I don't think it's going to be from any company in the US. Go diversity!

    I'd be more than willing to pay extra for North American support. If this option was available, I'd purchase an Inspiron E1705 today. I have access to the Member Purchase Program and have access some great discounts on Home/Home Office products. It doesn't make sense that I have to purchase a 9400 for a few hundred dollars more just to gain the privilege of paying an extra $99 for Gold Technical Support.

    Would you pay extra for the option to have all of your calls route to a North American site?
