I think that Dell should create a Tablet PC for normal consumers not just business users.

Thank you for your idea submission. We've had a couple of documented starts and stops on our tablet strategy so far, but we are now ready to start rolling out consumer tablets. The XPS 10 will be our first  tablet targeted at the consumer market. Three products, one of which being the XPS 10, were recently revealed at IFA Berlin and should start shipping later this year. Lionel posted about the products on Direct2Dell recently.

I think this should be a Tablet without any keyboards or anything. This should be alike a larger iphone sort of a setup. It should be like a slate I guess. Pricing should be less then 899 and people would be able to use it at Home for surfing the net reading books like in pdf format, checking e-mails,  watching movies etc. It should have 2-3 usb ports so tthat they can attached external hard drives, and what not.

I agree. I would like a tablet PC for taking notes in college, but I don't want a 12", ultra-portable tablet for performance and price reasons.

I agree with this. Dell needs to make a cheaper regular Tablet PC. One for consumers. The Latitude products are for business users. Make an Inspiron or XPS Tablet with a regular CPU and a larger footprint. We don't need tiny 3lb tablets. It's nice to have, sure, but not everyone wants to pay the drastic increase in money for the minimal decrease in size/weight. Just make a Tablet PC with the regular Inspiron's size and I'll be happy. Even better would be if you released a version of the 13" XPS as a Tablet PC. That's one good looking machine, unlike the Inspirons.

It is time for Dell to start selling notebooks that have a rotatory screen and that the screen works as a touch pad! College students will love it!
