Sure anyone can post on IdeaStorm and claim to be from a partner company. So why not supply verified representatives from your partner companies with a special tag next to their name like Dell employees get? Take for instance Chris @ AMD who may or may not actually be with the AMD. If he IS from AMD give him a tag next to his name of "AMD"instead of "Dell". I'm sure that your partners would enjoy the extra input from us as much as we would love to talk to them.

Could you be refering to the idea about adding the Nvidia GT 555M to the XPS 15? There is a comment about not being able to fit the 555M into the XPS 15 at the time. Some of the possible reasons given stemmed around power consumption and heat. The comment wasn't that a high end GPU couldn't be placed into a 14 inch laptop but rather that it couldn't be simply swapped into a system that was not designed properly for it. Let me know if that isn't the correct comment and I can keep looking.Jan 8, 2013 Comment Link

I found your idea on the XPS 15x and Stigtrix's on the 15zx but didn't find it yet. I'll keep looking.Jan 8, 2013 Comment Link

Yes I paraphrased because I can't access the original post. Just find the archived comment then. I believe that the comment was made under an idea that was requesting an XPS 15x model or 15zx.Dec 29, 2012 Comment Link

Francisco is one of the Idea Partners for Alienware and the quote you provided does not sound like something he would say. Bill_B was the Idea Partner for XPS and may be the person you are thinking of. Since the content is no longer visable to you it sounds like you are paraphrasing rather than quoting from the conversation but I would like to look into it to be sure. Do you recall the name of the idea or topic so I can look it over and provide clarification? On a side note: the Idea Partners do not have the ability to delete comments or ideas and ideas are not typically deleted, they are archived from view to help make the site easier to navigate. I still have access to the content through the back end of the site and often pull reports for different teams who are looking for feedback from customers.

It was deleted by I believe Francisco_S because I specifically pointed out three laptops that were cheaper than Dell's and had better components.Dec 27, 2012 Comment Link

This should be done to stop the junk that dell is feeding us.Here is my personal experience as to why dell doesn't use ideastorm very well at all. The people aren't knowledeable enough. Sorry, but college kids could do better.
I have been wanting to buy an XPS laptop for over two years now, and the response I got from an idea was that it wasn't possible to put a high end gpu in a 14" laptop.
Quote from dell rep:
"We can't do that. It's not possible with today's technology."
Real truth: The competitors are better than dell at making laptops with high end graphics and do so at better prices too. Lenovo makes very nice 14in. laptops with gt650m's and dell can't even put those in their performance XPS laptops. Pathetic.
