I'm a long time Dell owner of 10+ years. My next computer was going to be an ultrabook from a different manufacturer as I was washing my hands of Dell... Then I saw this bait dangled. If it comes to fruition I'll continue to own Dell.  please commit to supporting Linux. If you can only commit to this one ultrabook fine but please make a long term commitment to supporting a least a limited series of machines.

Specs desired:

Four core CPU with larger L1/L2 cache

Improved touch pad material that is able to withstand constant use every day, continuously for two years. The last few laptops from Dell had touch pads which wore out rather quickly. The pad lots it's coating and become less sensitive.

Efficient power managment that delivers similar battery use as delivered by Windows 7. Too often linux machines chew through power which limits their funcatlity. An ultrabook should sip power and maximize it's use as s portable workstation.

Ram 8-16Gig

Make driver source code available

Dev software does not need to be preinstalled but should be available for download
