Maybe 3 or 4 years ago, Dell would mail invoices but that stopped. I understand stopping that - going "green" (a.k.a. cutting expenses). That was replaced with the option to view/print invoices in PDF from My Account (great - that's what I'm asking for now). But for some reason, this option was dropped about 2 yrs ago. After that, all I could do was click a link to request an invoice which took a couple days from someone to e-mail. Then about 1 yr ago, that option was taken away as well. All I can do now is view a web "summary" - nothing official (no Service Tag of the product, no Dell Sales Rep, etc.).
As a Dell Partner, I.T. Solution Provider, and the ones who are actually promoting and recommending Dell products to the end customer, why would Dell make things so difficult for its partners? Is it becuase Dell doesn't really want a partner channel? Dell was the last of their kind to offer a channel - because they were getting squashed by HP, Acer, Lenovo, etc.
Receiving a Dell invoice is an important part of the accounting process for us and I would say most other Partners. If Dell wants us partners to continue to promote and recommend their products, they MUST bring this option back.
Another thing - customer service from their sales tax exempt dept. has to improve too. Just Google "Dell tax exempt nightmare" and see how much trouble Dell is to work with for resellers.
