Just checked the spec of the laptop being suggested, and it has no network connection, doh!
I'm not going to download heapdumps over a wireless link and my company bans wireless anyway for security reasons. Lack of a Gig ethernet would prevent me buying the suggested hardware, even with a promise that wireless is going to work. I dont have a wireless LAN, without internet its a brick.
I think Apple + Goolgle might have some interest in "consumers" having airbooks with extremely limited network connectivity, but not business users.

I am a 'business' user and our organization also bans wifi at work. But a nice work around is to run a wifi hotspot from your smartphone. Both android and iPhones provide this feature.I think the way things are going the days of finding a ethernet drop are numbered.

Thanks for the input. We're definitly looking to expand to other hardware options if our initial concept project pans out and having an ethernet jack - or at least a dongle? - seems like it would be appealing to folks, esp. those who're working in enviornments where wifi is not allowed.
