I was thinking that it would be handy if I could send a service tag from a piece of Dell hardware to a special account and have it return brief system information / warranty status, and perhaps a direct link for further information or to start a support conversation.

    Unfortunately on Twitter you cannot send private messages unless the other party is following you.  Since Service tags are sensative information, how would you propose exchanging them securly using your system?
