With so many peripherals that use Bluetooth wireless connectivity, it would be nice for desktops to offer built-in Bluetooth connectivity.
Just bought a Optiplex 7010 (Ultra Small Form Factor). The motherboard includes a PCIe mini card slot for an optional WiFi adapter. That type of mini card is identical to what most laptops have. Unfortunately for the Optiplex 7010 and others, Dell doesn't offer such a built-in Bluetooth upgrade card.
I could easily find a Bluetooth PCIe mini card to plug in, but I'm not sure it would work. I could be wrong, but I believe it would take a BIOS upgrade to make it work.
Only current solution is to buy a Bluetooth doggle which plugs into one of the external USB ports.
