Do NOT install extra software on Precision Workstations

Please do not install anything other than an untouched installation of windows or maybe give the option of no OS. Most companies have to uninstall a bunch of junk after getting a brand new laptop, which is a pain and can cost money to pay the IT consultant to do it. We would rather install windows or linux ourselves than deal with all the bloatware that is currently being installed with the OEM version dell uses.

Thank you for the additional information.  It helps to have those specifics if the idea gains popularity and moves up in the process.

Trend micro is often installed on them. Even if you choose none as the option, the installer is still there. There is also the dell digital delivery software (not sure if that's still on the m6700s or not though) which is definitely not wanted as it can run on startup and download files, which is a definite issue when on limited resource lan connections. I know dell wants to promote itself, but you don't need any software on a dell laptop to promote dell. The last precision I received had a recovery portion on the hdd created by dell, which is also an issue when your software uses multiple drives to store files on, it defaults to C:\ and D:\ which is the dell recovery portion. There is also that fingerprint reader software, which happens to store the passwords in plain text (unless it was updated after that info was made public).

Do you have any examples of what you consider extra software that is currently being installed on the Precision mobile workstations?
