Dell has been messing up alienware for quite some time now but this is starting to get a little ridiculous, so I thought I would start a petition` and maybe just maybe we can get this straightned out.

A friend of mine ordered a maxed out M18x R2 total cost was like $6,000+ USD, my friend received his maxed out M18x R2 on 8/13/2012 and was very happy until he found out that his $6,000 dollar machine had a major cosmetic blemish due to poor packaging. The laptop came in a very unprotected box (Dell use to use a very protective box, see image #1, but now uses a very unprotected box see image #2) What the heck is going on Dell? Getting cheap on your customers? If we pay 1000-6000 USD we expect are merchandise to arrive at are homes undamaged when we are paying a premium like this.

Also it seems like dell has done away with the leather alienware manuals (seen in image #3), I always found the leather manual to be a nice touch to the whole package but it seems dell has yet again gotten rid of something that is useful and very nice (allows me to store my repsawn cd, os cd, etc, as well as allows me to readup on my product before using it, allowed me to take my restore cd's with me on the fly incase I have problem and need to do a restore to get my pc back up and running without having to use alienrespawn)

Dell has even removed the color changing alienhead on the top of the lid of the laptop (see image #4), this cannot be changed to any color anymore (all you get is a standard white on the alienhead on the lid now).

Help bring back the old alienware by giving this idea a +1 promote.

Alienware's lost so much credibility when it got picked up by Dell. It's never too late to regain it! Lately I've had a hard time deciding between Origin and Alienware. I may even purchase my Alienware through Xotic (even though they charge shipping to Hawaii and Alaska). Please don't make this such a hard choice,

You're really not helping your case by contradicting yourself.

I think you'd care if it came in a paper bag that got the notebook broken on arrival.

I agree wholeheartedly with this, because that, given the price of Alienware machines has gone down, they are still exuberant by standards and have shown major reductions in quality or cheap components (look at that god awful plastic on the screens). The loss of the leather bound manual is a big loss on the out-of-the-box impression and while packaging is still sufficient for most purposes, what I recall was that Alienware offered imposing, impressively designed double-boxed packaging that was both sturdy and great to look at. Now, I'm not really sure I want to keep this brief case crate.
