There should be an option of having no trialware on all computers

Here is a news article about trialware and how Dell feels that regular customers want it but small business ones do. Do they not look at the ideas here?

"Not interested in all of the trial software that clutters up new PCs? You're not alone: According to Dell's recent research in both focus groups and broader surveys, small-business users overwhelmingly view trialware as an irritant, not a benefit. That research has led Dell to axe the extras from its new Vostro line of small-business desktop PCs and laptops. Eliminating demo applications is a major step for Dell, which has caught flack for the quantity of trialware on its consumer PCs. (One frustrated customer went so far as to develop a "Decrapifier" utility. The company says that consumers who buy PCs for personal use do express interest in preloaded trial software, but that small-business users have different needs. By eliminating the trialware from Vostro machines, Dell says it has cut the system setup time in half. For now, Dell is the only major PC manufacturer to ship small-business systems without preinstalled trialware as a standard practice. (Some competitors, such as HP, allow customers to choose a no-trialware configuration.)"

My biggest thing with all the extra JUNK that comes with the OS is this.  When we are going through customizing our orders there should be customization for extras, just like we have the option of what HD or how much RAM we want installed on our systems.  Do I want pre-installed games?  NO  Do I want McAfee?  No thanks, I use Nortons and please adjust my pricing , because you ARE charging me for it.  Do I want Skype?  No thanks.  Do I want Cozi Calender?  I don't know what it is.  Give me a short description of what it is, maybe I do want it.

Let me ask you this Dell, do you want all that on your computer?  Keep this in mind.  When the customers don't have to remove all this junk stuff off their computers, they don't get messed up and have to call in to get told that is a software issue and Dell does not cover that, which in turn does not UPSET  the customer, in turn makes for a happier customer.  The end result in all of this is possitive word of mouth and more business.  Isn't this your main goal?  Happy customers and more business?

One more thing before I go.  The less time you have to sit on the phone arguing with the customer over a software issue that could have been avoided, the more time your spending with customers that have hardware issues which you do cover and this results in shorter customer wait times.  Happy customers is what its all about!

Dell will never fully implement this, simply because they depend on partnerships with antivirus and graphics-software companies to promote their stuff.  Every time I've ever bought a machine, the manufacturer has always added trialware on there even if you didn't ask for it.

This is the biggest flaw Dell has, and this is the best idea I want to see implemented in IdeaStorm.

Yes. When I buy a computer I want it to be absolutely clean, with 0 softwares or programs installed except Windows OS and other Windows programs.

The other programs and trialwares are too annoying, if we want them we would download it ourselves.

Those trialwares (McAfee) probably gave us hidden charges that we can't reduce. It makes me feel bad to uninstall it, because I already paid for it.

It's like buying me KFC for lunch when I really want McDonalds. I can't throw KFC away because you already bought it.

If we want trialwares or any preinstalled softwares, let us PICK it as an option at a low cost, or else just get it completely out of our way.

Ha ha. You think DELL has Trialware? Go buy a Sony!!! My god, I had to do a clean install before I would even use the computer. On my first boot I was bombarded with ads for WildTangent, GameSpy, XFire, Bungie, McAfee, PCTools, etc. It was awful!!!

Business systems might have different bloatware, but you can’t expect DELL to pass up a business opportunity.

Weren't the Vostros always free of bloatware since they are a business system?
