Apple has a real, valid point: Too many cables in a typical PC setup.
I think Dell could make a combo cable, or a unified display (display/camera/stereo speakers).
Dell should work on a nice clean design - like Apple's clean design - less cable rat nests, more computing power.

@winoffice Excellent point. I was thinking the same thing. My only hangup was whether we could say "fully implemented" based on having the All in One offerings in the lineup. Not every desktop we make is as wireless as the AIO's, but we do have the option. We can go ahead and change this one to implemented based on the AIO offerings, I think.Mar 17, 2008 Comment Link

A couple of twisty ties or Velcro straps make all the difference.Feb 20, 2008 Comment Link

It doesn't just use less wires. Unless you start adding things like a wired network connection or a printer, maybe cable TV, it only has one wire. The power cord. The keyboard and mouse are both wireless.Feb 19, 2008 Comment Link

I think that aikiwolfie is right here. The XPS One uses less wires, right? Given that and reg's suggestion (to make a wireless Dell), it seems to me that we could say "Changed status to **IMPLEMENTED**", no?Feb 13, 2008 Comment Link

Having just noticed that we can now navigate by idea status I find this idea is still in the "coming soon" section. Since we now have the XPS One, shouldn't this be set to "Implemented"?Feb 8, 2008 Comment Link

I like the XPS One concept, except that I would like a height adjustable stand for my eyes. When my eyes went south, I wanted a monitor I could drop the bottom edge to desk level and tilt back so I could use the lower lenses of my bifocals. I had the computer guys purchase a Dell LCD monitor for me, but that model could not be lowered. After much looking on the Dell web site, we found the LCD monitor which could be lowered to about 2 inches of the desk top. I really wanted a monitor I can position like a book. The XPS One has possibilities.Feb 2, 2008 Comment Link

I think Dell missed a huge opportunity buy not making the XPS One bigger and wall mountable.Jan 25, 2008 Comment Link

I would like to see dell make 17" or 19 " all in one like i mac ( everything in a monitor except keyboard and mouse) which can be wall mounted. Mouse and keyboard wires being very flexible. For business use with or without dvd/cd drive, with gigabit network port with or without wireless. stamtam1 2 3 4 5 ... 19 Next
