Is there a plan to take out the keyboard off the laptops and allow users to use regular USB keyboards if they want it?  I know there are recent tablets coming in with windown 7 and atom processors but its not up to the performance.

So, how hard is it for the hardware guys to take out that keyboard from the convertible tablets? This way we'll have our regular windows 7 powerhouse on the go. Just make our laptops a single touchscreen box. We can use USB keyboards if we want it.  Just put that Intel i7 in that box give us a touch screen and voice input. It can be a bit thicker than tablets. But off course the processor & HDD are more capable. But still serves the purpose good right? That's what consumer is looking for such a long time dear Dell.

I know I can go for a tablet. But netbooks are far more capable and flexible. We can install any OS and put softwares of our choice. We can upgrade RAM and HDDs. And I don't think it is such a herculean task to reduce the size of our laptops, some models were tried before but were on high end price (but still loved by everyone who uses them till today - this thing I know from personal experience.)
