15.6 inch WXGA screen with optional LED back light
Core 2 Duo processor
Security cable slot
Choice of Vista or Ubuntu
Why not change the look while you are at it. How about something like.

The 64-bit OS should be a no-brainer, especially since all newer laptops should be built to accomodate at the very least a maximum support of 8GB of RAM if not more than that (even if Dell only offers 4GB normally).Speaking of which, I would also look at adding what could be an Inspiron 1740 (17" screen) and 1840 (18.4" screen) to the mix, like I suggested previously for 18.4" laptops for the Studio, XPS and Lattitude lines at:
