API Key for information about systems

This is just using a random API key I found while Googling, but the problem is, there doesn't seem to be a way to get an API key without taking this one. Today it stopped working for about an hour, complaining about an authentication issues, so I began looking for a backup way to authenticate. This is gold for our operation of 20,000+ Dell computers.
There's a post from 2009 about an API that shows ship and warranty information about a system. The problem is, that exists, but availability for API keys is scarce. Developers in large corporations are looking for a better way to keep track of their systems.
The API would increase technicians ability to find system model, age and warranty information more quickly, and the information can be polled for multiple systems at a time, if a department of a large wants information about just their computers.
I have built a site that shows information such as shown below:

Lejonet - I have removed the Service tag and order number from the post for security reasons. I am not familiar with the post you reerence to, do you have a link to it so I can look into this further?
