An XPS400 that comes with a Pentium D 940 processor is able to process either 32-bit or 64-bit data, however I was surprised to learn that Dell does not have any drivers that are compatible with the 64-bit capability of this processor - seems very short sighted to me. What is up with Dell - VERY poor support for what it sells!

Typically Dell supports the operating system that was shipped with the system. Did you have a 64 bit Operating System when you purchsed the XPS 400?May 24, 2012 Comment Link

Well like the Dell xps 13 ultrabook drivers, Dell did patch an trackpad driver making it more enhanced and improved. I got a 64bit laptop and HP does provide drivers if I reinstall windows 7.I think that it might take time before Dell does a patch if anoyed, one good thing would be to contact them and leave the rest to them.
Hope I helped.
