Post a better idea is a good idea, but has really nothing to do with this thread, 3 voting options (positive, indifferent (no vote), negative) reflects more on how people feel about a given idea.
Mod this idea Down! ;^{P
Negative voting is non existent. You Vote for What you DO want.
There are people who think this is XBOX chat, and mouth off at other peoples' ideas.
If they don't like it - POST A BETTER IDEA.
For the rude people - Please Stop Whining, Insulting, or terroristic behavior.
If you don't like an idea, post a better idea, and then drop a link to it on a popular page.
Don't like Ubuntu?
- Post an idea requesting MyLinuxDistro (whatever) and drop a link to your idea into the comments of
the page with over 100,000 votes.
If other people like your idea, they will vote for it.
If they don't, well - you can always install the software by yourself using your mad leet skillz.
Dell has said they _would_ provide a 'demote' button, but certainly we haven't seen it yet.
IF they do, I wonder just what form it is likely to take.
If a _separate_ count is maintained, I see no problem. Heck, why not? Waste of time, but will keep the malcontents happy ...er happier ...er less malcontented ...well give them something to take their hostility out on!!!
havacoke... did you read the other comments? I'll side with them.
It's chaos enough here. A negative vote would result in complete pandemonium.
Additionally, it would be antithetical to the very purpose FOR this site: to gauge customer DEMAND. Positive votes COUNT that demand.
If you don't need something someone else does, does that mean you should vote AGAINST it??
Yes, there are poorly thought-out 'ideas' ... even completely absurd ones (like buying Apple, for instance), but I suspect Dell has enough savvy to sift out the chaff. It really doesn't need US to tell it idea X is totally vacuous.
One of the best ideas on here (reguarding the forum). I think some of the larger number ones would drop quite a bit if we had the Demote button, and I don't want to see my favorite company go down the road of some of the ideas.

I just mentioned that because some people went on 'demoting sprees' - but they, themselves, have posted ZERO ideas.Apr 20, 2007 Comment Link

If you don't like an idea, you don't vote for it. The ideas with the smallest points won't be highly looked at.1 2 Next
