Intel i7 2nd Gen. and Nvidia Quadro in the same laptop

I am a video editor with a need for portability as well as high speeds for video rendering.  I am about due for a new laptop to replace my 3 year old Alienware m15x.

In my research, I have found that the latest Intel i7 Sandy Bridge processors increase battery life (something that Rendering would eat up, regardless), and that the Nvidia Quadro graphics card is built for rendering video.

There are many Dell laptops that feature the latest i7 processors, but include the Nvidia GeForce graphics card: something built for gaming, and not for video production professionals.

There are also many Dell laptops that feature the Nvidia Quadro graphics card, these include the 1st generation of Intel i7 processors.

If I ordered one of those today, by the fall I would already be using (essentially) a two year old computer.  Especially with the Ivy Bridge processors coming around that time.

Please update your computers to include at LEAST the latest i7 processors alongside the Nvidia Quadro graphics cards.

Awesome, Lauren_M.  I did see that, and I'm very excited about it.

I'm definitely going for the Dell Precision M6600.  You've been very helpful, and earned a sale for Dell by informing me that what I'm looking for is just around the corner.  (Something that tech support was unable to accomplish.)

I'm very excited to order this laptop, and for me the 10th of May can't come soon enough.  (This laptop will increase my video rendering time on the go at least 10-fold.)

That's great!  Much appreciated, Lauren!  I can't wait to put my order in for one.  I'll likely be one of the first to do so.

Awesome, Thanks so much Lauren!  I hope that the M6600 is officially on sale soon!  It sounds like it could be exactly what I'm looking for!

(When you say very soon, is it days, weeks or months?  I know you can't give any specifics, but I just want to know what I should plan for.)
