I have been waiting for Dell to release XPS 13z or XPS 14z for a few months now.
When Dell released XPS 15z they said the new (smaller) sizes will be released in the near future.
It has been already 4 months, and I am still waiting for these new (smaller) sizes.
Please release them already so I can buy the Laptop.
Thanks.
Status Update: The XPS 14z is available on the Dell website. Thanks for posting!

I'm in the same boat as all the others. I have a XPS M1330 which we bought in 2006 and are looking to get a new laptop soon. The XPS 15z looks nice but is WAY TOO large. Make a XPS 13Z and you'll have my money.Aug 21, 2011 Comment Link

I like the idea of the z series, but I would prefer an XPS 17z.. That way quad core processors could be carried around easily. Think of a thin, large laptop. Most people truly don't care about weight when things are so thin. As long as its thin it will make people think its lighter anyway, whether they realize that they're thinking its lighter or not.Aug 19, 2011 Comment Link

I agree! I have the XPS M1210, I bought it in 2006 and it's lasted me this long... which is why I'm finally interested in upgrading. I love the specs of the XPS 15z, but I want a 14" or 13" computer (yes 1" does make a big difference in portability!). My other option is the Toshiba Protege w/ the new i5 processor, but what is holding me back is their graphics card (intel). I like how the XPS 15z has NVIDIA graphics and also the RAM is 6g!!!The Alienware is really ugly and outdated looking :( and it's on the pricier side too. Please don't let us down Dell!

Hi bill_b,please don't keep us waiting too long... my xps m1330 is on its last legs after 3 fabulous years.... and i need to replace it ASAP....
the toshiba protege, sony vaio S-series and Samsung 9 are looking very attractive....
Please consider an XPS 13z that includes an optical drive, option for 9 volt battery and most importantly an SSD 256GB or larger.... I'd be happy to line up to be the first on the block for such a machine.... oh, and make sure it works with my old AC power supplies too, pretty please.
Thanks!

@qwe88 Love seeing your interest in the XPS z lineup. It is true we hinted at additional form factors for the platform, and we have some big plans for the coming months. Stay tuned.
