After owning my x51 since first launch I have a few ideas that I think should be put into the new models.
1: IR reciever built into the front. It sure would be nice if I could use my media center computer with a window media center remote with out the need for a external ir receiver. Also would need IR outputs to control amp and TV.
2: Lights on the side I think should have the same "alien glyphs" as the larger aurora models do... the honey comb one on there look too much like a bike reflector.
3: Optional blank faceplate. Give people the option to replace the optical drive with a SSD, then make a face plate with no CD slot on it. These models would come with a Alienware branded flash drive that contains windows on it.
4: mSata port, I see you are adding msata ports to most of your alienware laptop range. So, take a page from ASRock's Z77E motherboards and add a msata port to the backside of the motherboard where there is tons of space.
5: External antenna, simple idea here, but needed.
I think the msata port and the IR are the 2 big ones I would like to see.

I am all for improving the X51. I think an option for removal of the optical drive alltogether would be good. More space inside for more cooling and flexiblity. I almost never use my cd drive and could live with an external for the once a year I do use it. Most people are downloading games and media now, that is the future. Improving the physical nature of the case is always a good idea. Since it will reside in many peoples living rooms, making it as highquality as possible is good. I think it should be made to be the same high quality as my m18x is. I am waiting for R2 improvements to see if I purchase X51 or stay with a laptop design ( I want a higher quality and higer performing X51)
