I own 2 390's and love them but didnt have enough power so I bought a rackable PE 2950. It would be nice if I could put them all in a rack to save the space. Their boarder line servers. We should have the option

I'd buy rack mountable workstations! I word for a CAD company & we often use workstations as graphic servers, since 'real' servers have no decent graphic options. Shelves are what we use today, but that takes up 4-5U of rack space when a properly cased workstation shouldn't take more than 2U. Makes a big difference in high density enviromnents.

I just got off the phone with Dell sales and Tech support and they both said no. I'm aware their may be 3rd party kits but would still b nicer if it was designed that way

True. But I think there is/was a special casing with rails for the Precision 690 and/or 490 to make it rackable... Maybe I dreamed that at some point...

Some Precisions have the option to be rackable. I don't remember which ones exactly. You should ask your sales rep about it ;)
