What do mobile phones do? Foster communications and make them easy, thus ensure faster exchange of knowledge between employees and stakeholders.

In my opinion, the great potential of ICT technologies lies in the usage of social media. So the main question becomes how to make such social media platforms adaptable to business processes?  The most important things in business are certainty and transparency. Internal social media platforms connecting different groups of stakeholders, enabling them to use functions through which they can post the latest news about their progress can bring huge benefits for the companies. From the technology standpoint, mobile phones should be adapted to meet such business needs (small size phones might be inconvenient to process complex information). To conclude, the business might need phones that are doing almost the same things that conventional computers can do.

Great points KristinaB.  Social media is an important part of the impact of mobile technology.  If you think about the explosion of social media, more than anything it became relevant once people started accessing their networks from their smartphone.

Social media in business is also crucial as another touchpoint for building strong relationships with customers and coworkers.

But I would like to go further here as well.  Every day employees engage in some application or paperwork to complete a job function.  Work orders, time cards, purchase orders, etc.  How do you see mobile techology changing that interaction between the job function and the employee?  What type of devices and software systems are going to be crucial in that change?
