When we unveiled the XPS 710 H2C at CES this year, we also uncovered it. There were a limited number of systems sprinkled throughout the show floor that had a clear side panel allowing easy viewing of the patent-pending two-stage H2C liquid cooling system.
Since then, more than a few people have suggested we offer a “panel with a view as an option for our XPS 710 line. Now we need you to vote for one of these two options and, most importantly, share some reasons why you like it.
This “Now You Decide vote campaign will be open from Wednesday, April 25 to Friday, May 11. The design that gets the most votes will be featured in a future generation of XPS gaming desktops.

LOL! Except that there's zero expandability in those things. The Cybernet ZPC-9000 that Reg shows above has only two slots for RAM, and you'd never get a high-performance desktop GPU into it. The XPS 710 is a performance system. People who buy it sacrifice compactness for performance and upgradeability. You couldn't cram a Quad-core, nVidia 8800 into a "keyboard computer" design without suffering from thermal cooling issues. And drop the VGA specification. DVI is backwards compatible with a simple and inexpensive adapter. reg, would you mind resizing your "Andromeda Ascendant" image down a little bit? It's playing havoc with the formating of this page. The ZPC-9000 image could be shrunk down a little bit as well. Thanks.May 25, 2007 Comment Link

Oh, and get rid of the boxy box and just give us a Keyboard computer again - saves desk space! The New Dell Keyboard Computer
GREAT IDEA! Who didn't love their Commodore 64, Atari or Amiga? A real home computer again - just the keyboard with built in stereo speakers. A Middle of the road configuration - Slower Core 2 Duo, CD Burner, 1 GB RAM, 100 GB Hard Drive. Maximum Gamer Model - Speedy Intel Quad Core, DVD +/- Burner, 4 GB Ram, Real Graphics GPU by Nvidia or ATI, 160GB hard drive. All Dell custom configurable of course! All models support composite video, component video, and HDMI output in addition to VGA output. Front and Rear Audio jacks to hook up speakers or listen on headphones.May 25, 2007 Comment Link

True, man you missed alot here. Short version - cosh's catagorizer keeps getting better - shooters flipped his lid trying to get dell_admin1 to merge ideas and got run off - there is a dell_admin2 now - I posted a nice poem(deleted it shortly after - we all put up alot of our ideas for deletion in the new "delete requests" catagory - thebittersea's ideastorm troopers post became a general chat area - I suggested we use live spaces or myspace for user profiles and link them to the site, everyone hated it, my link is up on the storm trooper post - I think the updates are coming tomorrow, look at the direct 2 dell site they posted last friday that ideas about customer service will be posted here for feedback - Dell is broadening it's sales model - I'm getting along with jorge I think that is about it. Nice to have you back, sorry to everyone else for messing up this post, but maybe you learned something you didn't know in the process.May 18, 2007 Comment Link

Hey jervis, I checked the link, so was it really a tease, as it says? Man, my patience is quitely running out. And by the way, was away spending some time with family, what with a new addition coming into the family in a month or so. All work and no play makes me dull, no. :)1 2 3 4 5 ... 11 Next
