Positioning of vents

With their high performance modern laptops run pretty hot.
For people who actually use their Laptops on their Laps there er real issues.
1. Bases often get so hot that as to be uncomfortable on the legs / thighs
2. Positioning of CPU Fan intakes. My Vostro 1510 (and my previous HP xE) had the intake vents in the base of the unit where they are easily blocked when the Laptop is operated on the Lap. This results in them running even hotter and causing more discomfort.

My recommendation would be to have the intakes on the side twoard the back of the machine and the exhaust at the rear

My exhaust is at the rear. Somehow nature, if not Dell, works that way....
