A trackpad similar to the one that Apple markets currently would be a great way to maximize the user experience of Windows 8 Metro interface.  While touch screens will be in demand to utilize this interface, the desktop user will not want to muck up the screen with fingerprints.  Also a track pad would allow the desktop user to sit comfortably at the desk and utilizet the side swipe and gestures of the OS without having to lean across the desk to swip the screen.

I'm sure other 3rd party companies will come out with this, but Dell needs to brand it's own trackpad.

To which Apple trackpad are you referring: the internal built-in, or the external standalone?  The latter simply replicates the former.

Is there anything you would suggest to further improve such a product over and above what is already on the market?
