While for some computers (mainly servers) the Dell webiste offers plain text files containing the changes introduced with various BIOS versions (changelog), this unfortunately is not true for all products. For example, when I searched for the latest BIOS for a Precision 380 workstation all I could find was the BIOS update executables for Windows and Linux.

Since BIOS updates come with some risk and can also introduce new problems users usually want to know what the fixes and new features are in a new BIOS release. Especially for professional users (like business users) BIOSes are only updated if the new version fixes a certain problem. With the current sutuation however it often is impossible to find out what a new BIOS version does better or different than the older version.

Therefore Dell should provide a changelog file in plain text format which lists all changes introduced by the different BIOS updates for a given computer model, and this file should be placed on the same page as the actual BIOS update file(s).
