Recently it was announced that Apple is going to patent the wedge shape for computers (MacBook Air) as the recent Dell XPS 13 also has a similarĀ design, Dell will inevitably get sued by Apple by "copying"their design. The ideal solution for Dell to take in my opinion is to adopt a flat design- like a tablet and have the whole computer one uniform thickness (probably the one at the current XPS's hinge) the beauty of theis solutuion is the space that is now expanded can be used for one thing- batteries. With this design Dell can add almost double the battery than in current models and have class leading battery life. of course, the laptop won't look as thin in the pictures, but with potentially double the battery life as any other competitor, many people would flock to buy this.
