Be an innovator: Bring back 16:10, 1920x1200
Over and over, i see people mention 16:10 ratio screens. Over and over, i see the word "acknowledged" on those ideas. But nothing is changing.
Dell, you are one of the biggest PC makers around. Perhaps the biggest. If you demanded a 16:10 form factor screen, you could make it happen.
I vowed previously to never buy a new system without that screen. I am here today to alter that statement. A person mentioned in these forums that the removal of a 16:10 screen meant that there was no longer a need to buy a high end laptop. I wholeheartedly agree with him. But times are getting difficult, and my system most likely won't last another year. In the meantime, i hear that Apple still uses 16:10 on a few systems.
So I say, i will not buy a DELL that doesn't meet my screen needs. I've been a loyal dell customer for many many years. Dell has not put out the same kind of quality from their high end machines since 2010 and the days of the Alienware m17x R2. Dell continues to not listen to customer needs reguarding screen resolution and aspect ratio. I'm tired of it honestly. I'm sickened by the fact that media consumption has dominated the laptop industry, forcing users to adopt a screen resolution made for entertainment and not actual work.
Your customers who actually do work want 16:10, dell. bring it back. Dell sells WAY too many systems to not be a leader and an innovator in the industry. So what if the screen manufacturers went the other direction? If you build it and it sells well, the industry will follow you.
And so will my $$$$.
