Dell's consumer notebooks have the ability to "quick access" contacts, calendar and presentation information without going through a full boot cycle through its MediaDirect technology. Business users need that kind of quick access as well. Will Dell consider adding this feature to it's business notebooks?

In addition to the concerns raised by duhmoose, the MediaDirect partition is easily broken. It would have to be repaired after imaging every time.Feb 25, 2007 Comment Link

Are you crazy, this is a horrible idea for businesses. Most corporate laptops are used for company business, which needs to be kept private. Bypassing boot-up and coprorate security policies to access any information on the laptop is a security risk.Feb 12, 2007 Comment Link

Great idea! Not sure if it would work but possibly Windows Sideshow could be used?Feb 1, 2007 Comment Link

I love this idea. With all the applications etc that add time to the boot up process, it'd be great to have quick access to contacts, recent documents, calendar, etc.
