The Alienware M11x was a smash hit, and extremely popular until it's recent demise. There was no other laptop that had it's CPU and GPC power, portability, and ruggedness.
I want a replacement. All us M11x users do.
So how about a M12x in the same chassis with:

I really hope that you guys will reintroduce a M11x/M12x on the new Haswell platform from Intel and the new 700 series of mobile gpu graphics of nvidia.I think the M11x was the best portable COMPLETE solution out there. I mean you can find on the market another 11-12 inch laptops but none has the poker to play games on it, thats why the M11x was the only kind in this size segment.
Plus you also need to take in consideration that the future is with minimilization.
I would be one of the first customers if you'll introduce an M11x(or M12x) with the next intel platform!

I would definitely buy this system, as I am looking for a replacement for my m11x r2. It is a great system, just want a better cpu/gpu without trying to fit an R3 mobo into the system.Feb 18, 2013 Comment Link

I just picked up an M11x r1 for my girlfriend to use and for travelling when I don't feel like bringing my 680m sli M18x r2 with me. To put it simply, I love this little machine. The build quality is amazing for such a small, affordable laptop, and performance is pretty good for a low end 3 year old laptop.
I just spent 3k on my M18x r2, but if AW announced the return of the M11x (or M12x) I would order one immediately. Here are my wishes:
Aluminum chassis, not plastic like the M14x/M17x. I'm fine if this raises the price some, it's supposed to be a premium laptop.
Choice of matte and glossy 720/900p 12" IPS screens. 900p option would be awesome.
Nvidia Kepler GPU: 750m or 760m would be great.
Haswell CPU: efficient i5 and i7 processors will be here in a few months, and they're perfect for the M12x.
Same size chassis as the M11x with a 12" screen.
If this laptop were released, I'd throw down my cash immediately. I'd love to upgrade from my r1, but I don't want an M14x (or a plastic chassis.) If Sager can do it (the NP6110) then Alienware can do it better. Please, bring back a premium 12" gaming notebook. And discontinue the M14x and replace it with an M15x with flagship mobile gpu options.

I am sorry we don't have a system at this time that meets your needs Iceman82. I recall when Vista came out there was an idea to keep XP available that was implemented. Who knows, maybe that XPS 13 could become an option again.Oct 22, 2012 Comment Link

Update: I got tired of waiting. The next best portable from Dell, to me, was the XPS 13 but it's taken forever to announce the Ivy Bridge update, and my workplace needs Windows 7 still, not Windows 8. Pass.I've been toying with the idea of an XT3 convertible for a while so nearly got one of them. Again, no Ivy Bridge update (common theme here - no Ivy Bridge m11x either) and the screen, digitizer and a few other issues make a sub-standard machine. Pass. A colleague has an X220T and is happy with it, so I've got an Ivy Bridge X230T on order.
I'll be back in the hunt next year. Here's hoping the "Under Review" product has reared it's head by then. I've liked my Dell/Alienware's. It's a shame they didn't have anything for me this time around.

Unfortunately I cannot share anything as Dell does not comment on rumors, speculation or unannounced products.Aug 4, 2012 Comment Link

Hello again,I've been looking at my other options for several weeks now, and still haven't found anything I'm convinced I want... other than a revised m11x.
I'm doing my best to be patient, but is there anything you can share about what will fill the void formerly filled by the m11x?
